Finally figured out the root of the alarm going off when no one is near. The rear door sometimes (and suddenly) thinks it is "open" when it is closed. Now normally this would be about 15 bucks for the switch, but this one is weird (not exposed switch) and costs over $300 to fix. Workaround (if you can) don't lock the doors and then the alarm isn't activated.
