Ford pickup F150 truck doors cracked at windows on both sides. Repaired through Ford. The doors cracked again within month of repair. Not fixed although still under warranty. Ford issued bulletin after repaired, but we were not informed. Bulletin time frame has expired. Ford refuses to fix. Also, frame under bed where class 3 hitch was installed prior to purchase of vehicle (new), broke. Have pictures of same. Ford refused to fix or replace frame. If this had happened while towing on interstate, all could have been killed when hitch and trailer bounced off the road bed and dug into the road while vehicle was in motion. Ford refuses to fix this problem. Had repairs done by welding shop. Body shop and welding shop both state frame is substandard (too thin for weight that Ford states this truck can safely tow). Tongue weight less then 250#...seats repaired 2 times within warranty period (once @ approximately 23000, 2nd @ approximately 48000 miles). Ford states that this is normal wear and tear on vehicle. Previous truck (1987 Ford F150 6 cyl 4X4) had 150000+ mileage with no seat failure.
My 1999 Ford F-150 has a crack in the on the sheet metal drivers side door. Crack is located lower right side. Since I noticed my door cracked I've ben on the look out for other cracked doors. To date and at random I have found 11 out of 14 F-150's with one or both doors cracked.so far I have been able to tell 4 out of the 11 that their door was cracked and not a one had a clue their dood was cracked until I told them. On the internet I have seen 100's of complaints about the same problem. From what I can tell Ford had this problem in 1997, 1998, 1999, and 2000. What does a person have to do to have some one realize that there should be a recall on this problem.Ford has a big problem and seems to want to do nothing to correct the problem.

Consumer states' when door is shut, computer registers that door is open. Consumer states at night while driving the door ajar light illuminates for no reason. The reflection of light on windshield effects consumers vision.
The crack in the door is coming out from behind the weather stripping around the window. To my understanding it is due to a flex in the sheet medal being to thin.
The left drivers door exhibits a (stress?) crack approx. 1/4 in. Long located at the exterior radius where the door panel meets the glass of the side window at an area closest to the drivers door handle. Subject crack runs horizontally for approx. 1/4 inch. Dealer states this crack can continue to propagate if not repaired. Vehicle is out of warranty and Ford Motor Company says they will not pay to repair unless it is a safety issue. I believe if the crack is allowed to propagate at some point this becomes a safety issue as door structure will lose its structural integrity. Apparently this problem has surfaced often enough that Ford Motor Company has developed a repair procedure/kit to solve this problem. I believe vehicles with this problem should be repaired by Ford at no cost to the customer. Thank you. Ford Motor Co. Has developed
The drivers side door on my truck has cracked for the second time. I know of others with the same problem and Ford said they wont replace it and I dont feel I should have to replace a door for the send time in 3 years when I have been told that Ford knows there is a problem. I was told by the body shop manager the first time I had the door replaced that in all likelyhood the door they just put on will break again. I want help because not only does it decrease the value of my truck that is only 3 years old but the safty of it because I was told at the dealership that if not fixed the weld will completly break. If you need other instances of the same thing happing to others go to F150.com there are post there of the same complaint. And there are more out there no even aware of the problem. There were 4 people I work with that had broken doors that they didnt know about till I showed them. So please help me if you can.
I am concerned that the structural integrity has been compromised by this factory design defect. I am concerned that in a crash this door will fail to protect me, since it has already cracked. I am still awaiting the pass. Side to crack as well. Almost all of this model year as well as 1997, 1998, and 2000 are cracked in same area.
While looking vehicle over, consumer noticed cracks on top of door frame by window. Dealer has been notified. Consumer states that dealer wants $300 for repair, they have special kit for this repair because they know they have faulty doors.
Consumer noticed a crack on both doors at post where it curbed. Crack had developed about an inch long. Dealer was contacted, and could not provide any solution to problem.
Drivers door has a crack in the sheet metal about three or four inchces above the belt moulding at the rear corner of the glass. The dealer so far has ref sed to take care of the problem and at first completely denied that there was even a problem. Clearly this has been an ongoing problem that they knew about as there is a tecnical service bulletin dating 11/98. I have a friend who has a 1999 F-150 with both doors cracked in exactly the same place. Obviously my drivers door is the only one cracked on my truck because it gets the majority of use. I find it despicable that Ford would continue to manufacture the same defective product since 1997 and refuse to fix it as well as denie knowledge of any problem. I have spoken to numerous auotbody professionals who all had knowledge of this problem. Whats wrong with this picture?
Driver and passenger front doors are cracking around window, body of vehicle is fragile. Consumer is concerned, especially in case of an accident, doors may not hold. Dealership was aware of problem.
