Never been in the mud, always garaged and still in show room condition and this actuator cast aluminum housing fell to pieces during removal like it was 200 years old. What a piece of junk!!!!

After a year of back and forth try to solve the vibration problem the solution that Ford came up was to... "don't drive more than the speed limit"... (55 mph) because is again the law. Definitely is an annoying because I have to use Highways every single day and is a shame that with a brand new vehicle I can't drive faster than the speed limit...I been try different approach in order to fix this problem and also "The Lemon Law" ...but nothing was able to help me to resolve this matter...Is embarrassing Know that I spend almost $ 30,000 in this truck and nobody from Ford Scardasle N.Y. has been able to come with common sense solution to this problem...today the truck has the same problem and almost 28,000 miles and is still shaking with the full warranty in effect...and no solution whatsoever on the horizon

Same problem w/ vibes at/around 60-75 on my F150 SuperCrew. I get the same response from the dealership, "can't duplicate the problem." I rotated my tires, normal wear, and it helped a little. I also have a 2003 F150 SuperCrew and it's twice the truck the 2006 is quality wise. Better leather, better ride, heaver doors, feels more solid. Also probs w/ starting, get the same, "can't duplicate the problem."

I have leased 3 F-150’s in the past 7 years and in December I purchased a new 2006 F-150. I drove the truck for about a week and one day it started vibrating so badly that the windshield wipers were bouncing off the glass and the steering wheel was valiantly shaking. When I pulled over and got out of the truck I smelled something burning. I was close to my house so I drove it home. As soon as I drove it the shaking had stopped. I drove it a couple of weeks later and the same thing happened…and after stopping the vehicle the problem subsided. When I took it into the dealership they could not find anything wrong with it; they said they “could not duplicate the problem” so they could not fix anything. A week later it happened again and back to the dealership I went. Again they could not find anything wrong. I have now taken my truck in 4 times. They have balanced the tires twice, aligned the front end and “tightened a few things.” I am now demanding a new truck because of the “lemon law.” This whole issue has been a nightmare and I am sure it will only get worse as Ford is not going to give me a new truck without a fight.

OK this is basically an update of the previous problem I reported. First let me say I'm sorry there appears to be two identical reports for the same problem. I didn't think the first compliant I entered went through, so I made a duplicate, my bad.

So I took the truck into a local tire shop and had the tires and wheels tested/balanced. their take on the problem is a two of the wheels are not true (completely round) and at least two, maybe three, of the tires are of such low quality balancing them again will likely not totally resolve the issue. I paid for the test, cash $50. I made it clear from the beginning I would be addressing this issue with Ford and would not be purchasing tires and wheels from this shop. I wanted to be certain, as certain as possible, that I was creating a situation where the business making a recommendation for a resolution would not make a recommendation based on their potential to profit from that solution.

I watched as they put my tires and wheels on the balancing machine. You can see them them vibrate on the balancer. I didn't ask if they thought there might be wind or bumps in the shop creating this vibration. Actually one of the three does not vibrate. Which means 75% of them are so bad the only solution is to replace. I stayed around and watched them put wheel after wheel on this machine and never saw another wheel shudder and vibrate the way mine did.

I have written Ford Motor Company a letter. My hopes that they will address this with an acceptable solution is pretty slim. My guess is I be solving this issue by buying a new set of rims and tires. After shopping around it looks like the min. out of pocket expense for this solution will be at or above $2000.

According to CNBC Ford lost 12.7 billion dollars, that's billion with a "B." I firmly believe I know why. I also believe it's a good thing I no longer see ads where Ford claims "At ford, quality is job one."

I recently purchased a new F-150 Super Crew 4X4. It's a 2006 I got it right at the beginning of the year. I'd test drove several before buying this one. I ended up making the deal on-line and drove over late on a Sunday to pick it up. Never test drove this actual truck. Boy am I regretting that now. Driving it home that first night I felt a fairly serious vibration, what could best be called a shudder. It's really noticeable starting at 55mph, less so when accelerating. I live roughly 60 miles from the nearest dealer. So the next day I took it to my local tire store and had them balance the tires (at my cost $50.) They told me "wow, these were really out of balance." Driving home from there it was a lot better but still had a shudder. I went ahead and drove it back to the dealer a couple weeks later. The CD player doesn't work correctly and the lettering was falling off one of the emblems. They changed out the CD player, the emblem and said they found one of the tires was defective. Driving home, again, it starts to vibrate and the CD player kicks out about half the discs I put in it. So I called the dealer, no problem bring it back and we'll get it fixed. So a couple weeks later I make the hour and half trek. This time I insisted a mechanic drive with me so I could show them what I talking about. Keep in mind I have yet to have ANYBODY ride in this truck and not notice the shudder/vibration. I gave a neighbor a ride to work one day, never said anything to him about this issue, after riding for about 10 mins. he said "how come your truck shakes that like?" So I'm driving with this dealership mechanic, he said "those are just bumps in the road." Little farther down the road and more shaking; he notes "man, it sure is windy today." I felt a sudden urge to tell him "Gee Mr. Me-kan-eek I taint never droved me no truck'm befour. Them there is'm bumps and wind. Dang, ya dun solveded all my problems." I didn't, though might should have. Went back and talked to the service manager and told him that guy's full of it, I want this issue resolved. I give up on the CD, I'll just buy an after market unit. But the vibration I want fixed. So they kept the truck for three days (they gave me a loaner) and said we can't find anything wrong.

I took it back to my local tire store, they showed me there's a bunch of TSB's, put out by Ford, on these tire. They're General Ameritrac P255/70R17's. They also said it's possible the wheels themselves may not be true. I have an appointment to have them checked. My understanding is they have some way of checking them to see if they're true (meaning actually round) If just the tires need replaced then it's about $800 to solve this issue. If the wheels are bogus the price could easily triple.

Anyone want to guess why Ford Motor Company is losing money hand over fist?
