2013 Ford F-150 Lariat has rust all across top of windshield - what a pain this is going to be. I will sell it and not buy another Ford truck and make sure everyone I know doesn’t buy one either.
Have never considered owning any other brand of truck other than Ford, over the past 45 years I have owned 6 Ford trucks. When I decided to replace my 1997 F250 with a newer more spacious F150 Super Crew, in 2016 I purchased a 2013 F150 super crew, with 35,000 miles, I knew it had been a lease vehicle, but I wasn't told by the dealer Watermark Ford it came out of the north. About 2 years later I noticed something strange above the right rear wheel, upon closer inspection I realized there was a rust issue, over the next couple of years it has gradually worsened, this past weekend I saw that it has cracked through the paint.
When I contacted Ford about a year ago I was told it was out of warranty and there wasn't anything they could do to help. I don't keep my truck spic n' span but clean, I don't live in an area that has much snow or ice so I was shocked when I discovered the rust issue. The truck still has less than 70,000 miles and other than the right rear wheel well it looks great.
I am very disappointed in Ford Motor Company and their lack of concern for their customers who made and have kept the F150 the best selling truck for over 40 years !
It's a shame a 6 year old vehicle that is being taken care of has rust coming through both rear fender wells. It's a sorry way to sell a "Quality is Job #1" product.
I have a 2013 f150 that has rust popping through both rear wheel opening and both rocker panels. Was told by Ford dealer this is a common problem. When I contacted Ford I was told I was on my own. I keep this truck super clean even in the winter. I believe Ford should stand behind it. I would not be so upset if I had over 200k miles on the truck and did not take care of it. Poor quality product

Iit started to bubble around the wheel wells at 4 years old. warranty is for perforation which I haven't reached yet. the paint on both front doors is peeling at the bottom. likely not applied properly as its simply peeling off. around the rear fenders its almost a complete hole now in the 5th year.
My 2015 F-150 Ford pickup started rusting on the drivers side rear fender. Less than 5 years old but not rusted through so not covered. Dealer wants $4000 to replace both rear fenders because they told me both side will rust because of a design problem. Contacted Ford and got the run around. I have owned 6 new Ford trucks in the last 30 years and this will be my last. Ford did not seem to care. Small fish in a big pond.
I am thankful that I purchased the $700 rustproofing policy when I bought my truck new in 2013. In May 2018, at 5 years and 4 months old I discovered rust bubbling through the paint on the right rear fender. Ford refused to consider repairing it because the rust through warranty expired 4 months earlier but the rustproofing contractor that the dealership uses did do the repair. I expect more rust to start forming soon because of the extremely thin steel used on all the body panels.
This is just the latest in unexpected problems that I have dealt with. Starting with the groove in a front brake pad at 7 months old that, instead of replacing, they repaired by sanding the brake pad and cutting down the rotor. The following year at 14,000 miles the brakes ,no longer under warranty,needed replaced, along with all 4 tires.
At 4 years old and 39,000 miles, the electronic power asst. steering needed a $475 repair and also all 4 brakes and rotors needed replaced. My 20 year old Ford Ranger has cost me next to nothing to maintain and that is the reason why I bought another Ford but the quality is no longer there. The truck is getting traded in very soon for a Chevy.
Ford sold me on ecoboost torture tests for this truck, but can you believe that the big BUBBLE and RUST on right front top above windshield? Who knows how much it is going to cost to fix?
I bought this Ford F150 used in Dec 2015 with 28,000 miles. In 2017 I noticed bubbles in the back passenger fender. It's getting worse. The problem is the snow and salt get stuck up inside due to the design of the fender. It would be nice if there was a rubber grommet plug so we can remove it and get in between the 2 pieces of metal. Bad design. I've been a loyal Ford person and if I knew the truck was going to rust in 4 years, I would have never bought one. If I bought it brand new it would have been $45,000, also the inside of the tailgate is rusting and paint peeling. JUST PLAIN DISGUSTED.
I can't believe that a truck only 2 yrs old, has RUST PROBLEM and FORD will not cover the repair it,there is a Loonie size rust on the top driver side windshield ,called FORD took it back to the dealership and told me it is not under warranty unbelievable I'm pissed right off 70 thousand dollar truck it has 119,000 k and i have had it Rust checked last year i will never buy another F*CKED UP ON RACE DAY ,FORD
Now I have outer body rust thru on the driver side rear fender where the body and inner fender well come together.The truck is three years old and is spotless.I had worked in a body shop and was a detailer so the truck is kept clean. When I took it to the dealership they said sorry we cannot help you it has over 36 K miles on it. Glad I spent 37 K for it .I'tll be the last Ford I buy.They are 0-2 on taking care of the issues.I will never set foot into their dealership again.
