I recently took my truck in for a recall repair. They took care of the recall problem but was also suppose to look at the rattling (chirping) noise coming from front driver side wheel well. Cant remember mileage on truck when that was fixed. But im almost sure it was b4 80k was reached. My question is im doin research and there is a problem that ford is suppose to repair this issue if stated b4 80k miles or 10 yrs. Im just now seeing this and ive just surpassed 80k miles. Well they had said there were no issues. It was a ford thing. So i figured they knew whats best. Well. Id like my truck fixed if still possible because it is an emission issue. What can b done. Thank you
I use only Ford dealers for maintenance. I just took my 2016 Ford F150 in for an oil change and a tire rotation. The work order states the lug nuts cannot be removed because they are swollen. This is a well known problem with Ford Lug nuts. I had to pay to have all the lug nuts replaced on another Ford I own. Several lawsuits have been filed against Ford, their legal team has beaten these. There are actions against Ford in 7 states. Why not order Ford to replace swollen lug nuts at their own expense. If a Ford gets a flat tire, the lug nuts cannot be removed with a Ford lug nut wrench or any standard lug nut wrench. How is this permitted to exist" Why doesn't Ford stop using these lug nuts and sell lug nuts that don't fail"
My sliding rear window shattered while having the rear defrost on for the second time in two years. This time my son was rear-facing in his car seat while it happened. There were no warnings. My ears hurt and I've had a headache since and hope my son isn't experiencing the same. This is an extreme safety issue.

2016 F150 on interstate at speed a pop heard and all acceleration stopped suddenly and would not move forward. No warning lamps, no messages before this dangerous event. Had to unsafely cross 2 lanes of interstate traffic with no acceleration until unsafely stopped on shoulder. Horns blared, tires screeched for semis and interstate traffic to avoid striking me. On inspection and confirmation by Ford dealer service, rear differential found shattered metal inside with fracture causing truck to completely stop without warning. Severe safety failure and malfunction easily leading to death and destruction was the result while driving abruptly interrupted on interstate. Collision with loss of property and life was narrowly avoided and should not have happened in a less than 6yr old, 60K mile truck.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled and the steering wheel became difficult to maneuver. Several unknown warning lights illuminated and remained illuminated. The contact stated that he attempted to restart the vehicle; however, the vehicle failed to restart. Additionally, the contact stated after the vehicle had been parked for a while, he was able to restart the vehicle but the failure recurred. The dealer was notified of the failure and an appointment was scheduled. The vehicle was currently being towed to the dealer. The vehicle had not yet been diagnosed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 36,000.
We discovered water in the glove compartment after rain. The passengers identified headliner has clearly had water issues prior to our purchase of this vehicle used. We applied silicone caulking to the top, passenger side windshield. After further rains, the water seems to be collecting under the dashboard and spills out when turns are made or velocity changes. Further silicone caulking of the windshield may be preventing leakage, but we are not fully assured of that.
The rearmost exhaust manifold bolts have broken due to poor design. This will significantly increase the risk of exhaust fumes collecting in the engine and passenger compartments
Downshifting while I was driving happened without warning. Besides the gear switch, I noticed problems with the speedometer, erratic gear shifting, and the transmission stuck in one gear. I could have caused a major accident by the vehicle as I was at moderately high speed in motion when the vehicle began to fail. I did also bang my head on the steering wheel when the truck began to decelerate on its own! Mechanics told me it was a problem with the OOS (Output Speed Shaft Sensor). I could have got in a major accident had I not had a quick reaction to the truck automatically downshifting while at a high rate of speed. There is currently NO recalls for the 2016 F-150 model however, I did research and found that there are issues recalls for this VERY same problem for older F-150 models. This is an incredibly dangerous problem. My truck at this time only has 66,000 miles. Not very many miles on it for a 2016 to have this type of issue. Major research needed to get this resolved asap! People-??s lives are at stake with this truck!
Vehicle transmission/drive train shifted into neutral and dash flashed Service AdvanceTrac & Hill Decent Control Fault warnings while traveling on highway at 70 MPH towing trailer. No advanced warning of issue or warning of power loss. Transmission shift controls had no control of power train. Engine appeared to go into idle mode. This system fault placed the safety of vehicle driver, passengers and nearby vehicles at high risk. Luckily vehicle was topping a rise and gravity maintained speed to coast to shoulder of busy highway. And there was a shoulder on the highway. Turned off vehicle, restarted and appears to be operating normally. Waiting for dealer service to diagnose vehicle.
I remote started my vehicle this morning and when I went out to get in my truck, I noticed smoke in the cab and a burning smell, as if an electrical issue. After investigating, I found my entire rear window was shattered. Apparently when using the remote start it engages the rear window defroster. It appears to have been the reason for the window shattering."." I always remote start my vehicle during the cold months and never experienced this before. No warning messages or anything. After researching, found this exact situation seems to be happening for my make and model with no recall in place yet.
The rear power door locks freeze and won't latch in cold temperatures 15-20 degrees F, unable to keep the doors closed, cannot operate the truck safely. The power lock assembly fail to respond in freezing cold weather.
Revision of 11448462 filed on 1/23/22 My wife and I were driving to our house in our 2016 Ford F150 and were approaching the final turn into our subdivision. When approaching our road to turn, I turned my directional signals on to show that I was turning left and was slowing down. Also, there was a line of cars behind me. I immediately saw that my turn signals were not working, and were not aware that I was turning left, and continued going straight to ensure that the cars behind me did not ram me in the rear. As soon as I could, I pulled the truck off the right side of the road into a small drainage ditch. No damage to the truck at that time. Electrical components failed; My safety and my wife's safety were put at risk. This problem with the turn signals has been noted by Woody Anderson Ford, Huntsville Al. My truck, after we arrived home, sat in our driveway for approximately a week while I went through my Ford User Manual and several repair manuals looking for the problem. I did not find any reference to that specific problem. However, during that week, while sitting in the driveway, the truck continued to develop more problems, specifically the engine developed problems that would not allow it to run, and the transmission locked- preventing the wheels to roll. The truck is now at Woody Anderson Ford, Huntsville, Ala..As of this last Friday, at $ 100 an hour for diagagonise. They have told me that the truck is probably unfixable. These two faults, If they had happed to the truck while we had been driving, would probably have killed all occupants of the truck, and anyone that we might have hit would be in the same condition. Please look at your records and the number of the same year and equipped trucks are on the road and are a safety risk.
It is now winter and frequently experience temperatures below 10 degrees F. The rear driver side door power lock will not work (will not lock / unlock) when activated by key fob or by pressing button on door. All other doors will lock / unlock as normal. When the plunger is pushed or pulled on the affected door, it will then lock / unlock.
While driving, I applied the brakes and the pedal went to the floor. I received a low brake fluid warning. I checked and there was almost no fluid in the master cylinder. It was determined that the master cylinder rear seal had failed. The brake fluid had leaked into the brake booster, which failed. I was driving on the interstate when the brakes failed suddenly and without warning. The vehicle is now at the Ford dealer for repair and they have confirmed the failure of the seal in the master cylinder. I am aware of a prior recall on this issue #20S31 - but the dealer informs me that my VIN # is not part of the recalled vehicle group. However, my sudden failure is exactly what the subject of the prior recall covered. I have the exact model and engine as was involved in the recall.
THE REAR WINDOW (NON SLIDING) IS SEVERELY LEAKING DURING HARD RAIN AND WHEN GOING THRU A CAR WASH. THE HEADLINER IS SOAKED AND THIS COULD BECOME A SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE THE PROBLEM COULD CAUSE MILDEW AND MOLD UNDER THE HEADLINER WHICH COULD CAUSE BREATHING PROBLEMS TO INFANTS AND TODDLERS RIDING IN CAR SAFETY SEATS AS WELL AS OTHER PASSENGERS RIDING IN THE VEHICLE. i WOULD EXPECT FORD MOTOR COMPANY TO RECALL AND REPAIR ALL FORDS THAT HAVE THIS PROBLEM.
