AIRBAG WARNING FAILURE A know issue with Ford F-150 and other products with the Blind Spot senor module in the rear tail lights. The vehicle has an issue with water or fluid leaking into the tail light housing causing many of the advanced features to stop working. The vehicle shows a Blind Spot Sensor Failure, Cross Traffic Sensor Failure, Front Windows will not operate, Air Conditioner stops working, Radio works but nothing can be changed and worst of all the "The Air Bag Failure Warning Light" comes on rendering the vehicle unsafe for roadway operations. The Internet (You Tube and other sites )document the failure and how to fix it. It is not confined to just My 2017 F-150 but plagues many other year and model ford products. My truck is currently at Bluebonnet Motors the Authorized and Sales Dealer for this Truck, they have confirmed the issue and are awaiting parts to repair it. They have quoted about $1,850 for parts and labor. Charles the service writer and myself witnessed these failures in the service reception area while checking the truck in for service. This problem puts many people at risk (including myself) if they are unaware of the entire system failures. Should a crash occur the occupants may not be provided with air bag deployment, which could result in possible injuries or death. I have not been made aware of Ford Motor Company or the dealership acknowledging this serious safety concern.

On 07-15-2023 A girl rana stop sign and hit my truck quite hard on the Drivers side just in front of the door. It was so violent that my head, shoulder, arm, and left hand shattered the drivers window in each place they hit. Pictures show all 4 definitive places where each body part hit. I incurred a fracture on my left hand, shoulder, and head pain. I had to really force the drivers door open. It bent the front end around and I had to force the passenger door open. The side airbags didn't deploy. At the time of the accident all I felt was my hand and was slightly dizzy but didn't feel like I needed medical attention. The next day I knew I needed medical attention and went to the urgent care. I am now getting unusual headaches on the left and rear side of my head. I do not normally get headaches and am rarely ever sick. I have an appointment with my doctor to get checked out on Monday. I really feel that the side airbags should have deployed. Why even have them if they done deploy.

Symptoms of clock spring failure in steering wheel (buttons only working on half of steering wheel, horn not working). There are recalls for this same issue on other model fords where at appears the airbag may be implicated. There is no recall for this on my model year, and ford could not provide insight as to whether my airbag was also implicated

Water is getting in the truck, wetting and staining the driver side airbag, and coming out of the driver side grab handle, running down the electrical instrument panel. This is most apparent when the vehicle is parked on an incline during a rain storm, with the front of the vehicle lower than the back.

I was denied service by team Ford las vegas on drexel rd for NHTSA recall number: 18V568. The service manager informed me he had removed me from their system and he had the right to refuse service to anyone at anytime. I informed him this was for a safety recall and it needed to be fixed. He still refused me service. I believe his refusal was due to a negative review I gave their service department a few months earlier. I mailed a letter to Ford Motor Co asking for their help to get the safety issue fixed on Dec. 4th 2018. I have still not received a response. I have attached a copy of the letter sent.

Takata recall I was involved in an accident while driving my 2017 Ford F150 on December 20, 2017. The driver air bag curtain deployed and trapped my head down against my left shoulder. The bag did not deflate, so I was forced to retrieve my knife from my belt and cut the bag open. The contents of the bag quickly filled the cab with white powdery smoke which I inhaled. I now have rough breathing while inhaling. I have been to my doctor and was prescribed azithromycin 250mg pak tab teva. This was a temporary cure, but the rough breathing is again present. Please provide the propellant name in these airbags, so I will know how to treat my problem.

For the second time in two months, I have had to return the vehicle to the dealer because a hose comes off the air bag. This causes an alarm and causes the passenger air bags to fail. This chronic failure puts the passenger at risk any time it decides to fail. If the driver does note the small light, they could operate for years with no passenger protection. This should be permanently fixed. Twice in two months is a chronic failure and may be a design flaw.. it makes no difference, it is that way moving, standing still or idling.

Dakota traveling 50-55 mph on interstate 95 hit Ford traveling 20 mph near exit ramp causing Ford to hit Cadillac traveling 10mph causing Cadillac to hit murano, resulting in 4 car accident. 2017 Ford took brunt of hits due to speed of Dakota. 2017 Ford deemed totaled. Airbags on 2017 Ford did not deploy, though sensors appeared activated--see photos that show lights on. All interviewed at bodyshop, insurance adjuster etc. Don't understand why air bag didn't deploy considering the speed of hit from behind and the force of hits on both sides, damage, and sensors activated.
