Ford TSB #SSM 47542
2018 Ford F-150
TSB Document:
Affected Component: POWER TRAIN
- Summary
- Some 2017-2019 F-Super Duty/2018 F-150 vehicles equipped with the 6.7L or 3.0L engines may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with DTC P208E in the powertrain control module (PCM). When performing pinpoint test RK, the results of the selective catalyst reductant (SCR) dosing measurement test (RK7) may be zero or below the specified 40-50mL requirement due to urea crystals plugging the DEF injector nozzle. If the measurement is below this specified amount, perform pinpoint test step RK7 two additional times. If the specified amount is met, reinstall the reductant injector. If after three attempts the dosing measurement remains below the specified amount, the DEF injector should be replaced. The DEF pump should not be replaced for DTC P208E. Engineering is investigating. Monitor OASIS for updates.
