The truck has a death wobble. When we are on the freeway or hit a bump, it shakes uncontrollably and wont stop until we pull over and make it to a complete stop.
On February 29, 2020, at approximately 12:30 pm, I was driving on the freeway at approximately 60 mph when all of a sudden the front end started to shake and vibrate. It was very extreme and I had to slow down and then pull off the freeway. All the tires were fine, and the shaking did stop as I slowed down.

While driving straight on a highway at approximately 55 mph my truck's steering wheel began to violently shake. It also felt as if the whole truck was shaking. I decreased my speed to approximately 30 mph and my truck quit shaking. This happened on 02/23/2020. This has happened 3 times since I have had my truck. One other time I was driving straight and the same thing happened. I was able to slow down and the truck quit shaking. The other time I was driving on a state highway and I was in a curve. The truck and steering wheel began to violently shake. I briefly lost control of the vehicle and went into the left lane. I slowed down and the shaking stopped. I was able to regain control of the vehicle. I will be contacting the dealer tomorrow morning on 02/24/2020. Luckily there was no oncoming traffic when my truck began to shake. After doing a little research, it seems that Ford has a problem with these vehicles and my truck seems to have a death wobble. I am the only owner of my truck and it has less than 7600 miles. My truck is fully stock with the 18 inch rims and stock tires.
Driving down a straight one lane service road at about 50-55 miles per hour I experienced a violent wobble at the front end that forced me to grab the steering wheel tight with both hands and slow down to gain control of the vehicle which feels like it begins to bounce and drift sideways if I didn't. I'm afraid to hit even the slightest of bumps or pot holes now and even slow down in areas I know may have some. But what worries me the most is causing and accident or even worse letting my family use the vehicle and something happening to them as the problem seems to occur more and more frequently
Truck will on occasion hit a rough patch of road and start shaking uncontrollably until it is slowed down around 40 mph. Usually happens when traveling at speeds over 60 mph.
While on a highway on a long turn, a damage section of the road was approached. When the vehicle drove over the bump, the entire steering wheel became loose and loss tension, the vehicle discontinued turning for a moment then regain steering a second later. While turning, during the moment of loss steering, the vehicle swerved to the opposite direction of where the vehicles steering was positioned, then skidding the occurred and steering was regained. Speed was approximately 55mph
Death wobble. Violent shaking of the steering wheel. I have to slow almost a complete stop to get it to go away. This happens while driving at usually higher speeds from 50 mph to 80 mph when it hits a bump or a gap in the pavement.
Driving at 60mph I hit a bump (joint) between overpass and highway. Truck started violently shaking in the front end. Pulled over to side of road checked tires and lug nuts no issues. Drove home slowly
When driving at freeway speeds going over a rough patch of the freeway front end violently shakes uncontrollably to the point of having to stop completely. This has happened several times now and afraid to drive vehicle.
At speeds above 45 mph, after driving over rough road, the steering wheel vibrates uncontrollably until speed is reduced. This is happening while in traffic and will eventually cause a serious accident or death!.
Driving vehicle at 45 miles an hour. Drove over an uneven patch of blacktop road and both front tires started wobbling. The term is called " death wobble".
Driving 65 mph, encountered bump/ridge in highway surface. Front end began shaking violently to the point of almost losing control. Was able to brake abruptly and stop episode. This has happened two times recently.
Mid to high speeds if I hit any sort of bump or any sort of hole in the road the front end starts to vibrate severely and steering wheel vibrates and shakes and I have to immediately decelerate. It is exactly what I see other Ford users describing online as the death wobble.
I had 18000 miles on my new truck when the death wobble started. I sent the truck to natchez Ford dealership 2 times. The first time they replace the drag link and did a alignment. Took it back at 22000 mile the truck stayed at the dealer for 3 weeks waiting on so upgrade damper. Drove the truck for 300 miles still wobble but not like before. Parts are not what's need to fix the problem. People at dealership has a fix for the issue but its is not cover under warranty
I am having some type of severe wobble steering/suspensions issue where it feels as if I have a flat tire on the front of the truck. The first time this happened it was so severe it cracked the windshield. The first occurrence I tried slowing down from 70 to get it to stop as I thought it was a flat tire. Once I slowed down to about 25 it stopped. The second time this happened I tried to give it about 30-45 seconds to see if it would stop but it didn't and progressively got worse. The third time this happened I got a bit more creative and tried to accelerate through this going up to 85 and that did not work so again got it to stop by reducing speed to 20-25. This is unsafe to the point where I am afraid to drive the vehicle on the highway in heavy traffic or on a highway without shoulders as if this occurs I may have to slow down to 20-25 mph to get this to stop. This occurred on the highway (I-75 in fl) on 3 separate occasions and experienced the same problem 3 times over the period of 30 days. The tire psi was about 65-70 on all occurrences with dealer inspected "good tire tread". all 3 were routine drives to work and all occurred at the same speed of 70 mph. All of them were cruising (not accelerating or decelerating) and in 6th gear in optimal driving conditions. This happened twice with no load and once with a bumper pull trailer (tongue weight of about 350-500 lbs, load weight of trailer+load around 5,000 lbs). My truck has only been serviced by Ford and at the dealership where it was purchased. It was purchased new with only 13 miles when sold. I now have about 25,000 miles on the vehicle. The truck has 0 aftermarket parts or equipment and is 100% stock and has the original tires as well (Continental w/kevlar).
I was driving down interstate at 70 mph. The truck began to shake uncontrollably. I had to stop each time to resolve the issue. The truck had less than 6000 miles on it with no modifications. Extremely dangerous. This will kill someone. I usually use the truck to tow a 7000lb rv and cant imagine what would happen if I had been towing at the time. I contacted my local Ford dealer and they acted as if it wasn't a big deal. This happened 3 times within a 20 mile distance. I was terrified to continue with my trip and was nervous the entire trip. Please address this. I hear it is a common problem.
