Before the recall notification of the door latches my rear passenger door latch broke in an Ingles parking lot in the evening. I tied the door closed to get home and contacted Billy Cain Ford in Cornelia GA about my issue. My car was still under warranty at this time and they fixed the issue for that specific door. A few months later I received a letter from Ford that my door latches were recalled and that all should be replaced for free. Shortly after that letter my front passenger door latch broke while driving. I took it into Billy Cain Ford in Cornelia GA and they fixed only that door, even when I mentioned the recall stated to fix all four. They told me that they would not fix it unless it was an emergency. Nearly a year later on March 23, I had gotten a flat tire after work at took my car into the Quick Lube in Toccoa GA to have it fixed. While I was there they changed my oil and when I mentioned that I knew I needed two more tires they ordered them to be in the next day. When I went into the office the next day, March 24 I told them that I still had a few recalls on my car that needed to be taken care of. I needed a software update, door latches fixed on my front and rear driver door. Mike Jones Ford in Toccoa said they would need to order the parts and schedule a time for me to leave me car with them. I left the next week for a trip to Charleston. On April 1 Nick from Mike Jones Ford in Toccoa GA called and left a voicemail telling me they had the parts ready and I could come in. I was out for the beginning of that week and then could not be without my car because of end of the year responsibilities at the college I work for. I received another flat tire, the same tire that I had previously had a flat on March 23, on May 27. Since it was memorial day weekend I had to wait until June 1 to have a tire replaced on my car. While I was there I mentioned that I was not able to have my previous recalls fixed that Nick had left me a voicemail about on April 1. Nick at Mike Jones Ford in Toccoa GA told me on June 1 that my recalls had been completed on March 24. I received no paperwork about the recalls being completed on March 24. Not until June 10 did I receive paperwork from their service center.

I do not believe my recalls were completed on March 24. I believe that Nick from Mike Jones Ford in Toccoa falsified paperwork. Mike Jones also will not prove to me that they completed the door latch replacement. They will only state that the paperwork was filled out. I have called the Ford Motor Company as well about this issue. Their representative Wally informed me that because this was not an emergency ( my door latches are currently working) that I should not be upset. I asked Wally if I was to wait until my door latch fails, possibly risking injury to myself or others, before Ford would fix the issue and he said yes.

I am asking that I am given physical proof that the parts in my car were replaced, free of charge. If the new parts ID numbers are present in my car I will be satisfied that the work they stated was done. Until then I feel unsafe driving my car or putting others in my car.
