The rear engine torque mounts are failing at an alarming rate. All new cars with very low mileage. My car is knocking under acceleration from first to second and second to third. The noise of the engine mount knocking against the surround is so loud its actually heard by drivers in other vehicles in close proximity. The engine is moving around and the rubber torque mount is disintegrating as a result. I've had mine checked by Ford but they only did a visual check and never drove the car.

The mount needs to be removed and checked properly. The knocking is loud and scary. Owners of the UK face book group MK8 ST owners club have many members with stock & standard cars where the torque mount has failed some reporting multiple fails. The car has a performance pack which includes launch control but this is so stressful on the torque mounts which renders this facility useless.
