This happened when I pulled out to pass another vehicle, down shift to fourth gear pressed the pedal to the mat and at 4500 RPMS the engine throttled back to 3500 RPMS and stayed there until I let up on the accelerator pedal and pushed it back down and it increased its speed. Only did this once I thought it was my doing .
Then today 08/16/2018 it did it twice at 3500 RPMS and throttled back to 3000 RPMS and stayed there until I let up and reapplied the accelerator pedal, no more passing any vehicles today.
I not sure if this model has a rev limiter in the control computer but that's how it was acting my Fusion had it.
You purchase a vehicle, the speed be controlled by the driver not the GOVERNMENT.
Ford ???
Update from Sep 12, 2018: Took the vehicle in for trans axle work, the tech drove the vehicle and agreed I had an acceleration problem. Nothing was done to remedy the problem. I still cannot pass another vehicle on a two lane road unless there is a lot of distance to get the speed up to overtake the vehicle. This is a dangerous situation.
