Shortly after buying this POS the transmission slipped during acceleration/deceleration which was actually a throttle body problem. Poor power of acceleration, a loud shriek like a belt slipping, the wrench icon comes on dash and sometimes it acts like it's in neutral until engine is shut off and restarted. Very dangerous to drive. While it was under warranty, they updated the computer module by flashing itand rebuilt the transmission. Later on, Ford issued the recall where they flashed it again and cleaned the throttle body. Brought it back a couple of times when problem obviously wasn't resolved and Galpin Ford in North Hills told us we would have to pay to over $1,000 on a new throttle body, which I doubt would fix it after reading all the posts online. Galpin suggested we sue Ford Motors because their hands were tied. I will never buy another Ford again. I feel like blowing this car up with dynamite on you tube but I'm too broke to buy any after having to buy another car. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr! F.U. Ford Motors!

Cavalier Ford tuned car at 120.000 miles however throttle body was never cleaned as part of the $700 100,000 tune up service. Part failed putting car into limp mode (idle) at 128,000 while my wife and her disabled mother were in the vehicle in rush hour traffic. ETB's are Ford's version of a Japanese timing belt, congrats Ford. Programmed Obsolescence.

PLEASE REPORT PROBLEMS TO FORD, SO THEY CAN GET AN ACCURATE ACCOUNT OF HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM. FORD PH# 800-392-3673. 2006 Ford Five Hundred Vehicle Lunges forward when idling or you take foot off brake. Today, it just died. Called Ford and since there isn't a recall, nothing they can do. I asked how many complaints they need to deem a Recall? Apparently only their Engineers have that info and they aren't taking calls. How convenient. Ford advised they report to the Nat Hwy Safety Admin or NHTSA 888-327-4236 or 800-424-9393. I guess there will have to be an accident before they will address the problem

Five Hundred SE V6 3.0L

My FIRST and LAST Ford vehicle. Ford has a reputation of being undependable, but I decided to give them a chance. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER again. I am very upset that after reading years worth of complaints from various sites in regards to this problem that Ford has not recalled this issue. When Toyota was having wide-spread brake system issues they rectified those issues with a proper recall. Obviously, Ford is not the upstanding company in which they want to appear. This is the reason many people are buying foreign cars and domestic car purchases are dwindling.

I have had to replace several things on this vehicle, but the worst and perhaps most dangerous is this throttle body issue. The car will surge forward or backward even when the brake is pressed, wtf? It has done this several times in the last several days, in parking lots, in the drive-way, and the stop-light!!!! This is dangerous and I am extremely upset that Ford will grossly allow people's lives to be endangered by this issue.

Again, I will NEVER buy another Ford. PERIOD!

My car was lurching when I was coming to a stop. Had to mash the pedal to the floor to make sure I did not rear end/jump a parking block. Truly annoying. Got it fixed, cost me 500.00 out of a 900.00 bill.
