The center of the steering wheel has started to melt. I have cleaned it with every possible cleaning product. I have also taken it to be detailed. Nothing takes this off. It is something with the material. Problem is that the repair will be over $700 due to the air bag. The air bag is located under this problem. I cannot put a cover over the problem because it will effect the job of the air bag (if needed).
My car is in top condition. 30,000 miles is all I have on this car and I bought it brand new. I have never crashed this vehicle or caused any damage. I am unsure where to turn. Ford dealership has no other answer than to repair the whole steering wheel for $700. Please help!!
