Last year my airbag warning light came on, after I had an accident a few months prior. I got my car fixed at a reputable body shop, but the airbag never deployed during my accident. I rear ended another Ford, an Escape jeep. An ambulance cut her off and I rammed her from behind. Anyhow, The airbag light came on last year and I researched it online at Ford Fusion forums. They said Ford would recall the airbags and reset the warning lights. I heard of the Takata airbag issues and I don't know if my car has them or not. I took my Fusion into our Ford dealer here and they kept my car for a day and said they had no parts to fix my issue, and to add insult to injury, told me they were never given an official recall from Ford HQ so I'm on my own. If I get into an accident and My airbag doesn't deploy, I guess I'll have to have faith everything will be alright.
