The contact owns a 2008 Ford Fusion. The contact stated the while her daughter was driving at various speeds, the brake pedal depressed to the floorboard however, the vehicle was slow to respond which extended the stopping distance. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 19V904000 (service brakes, hydraulic) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The vehicle was taken to malloy Ford charlottesville (2070 seminole trail, charlottesville, va 22901, (434) 977-7960) where it was confirmed that the part was not available. The vehicle was taken to madison Ford (2895 S. seminole trail, madison, va 22727, (540) 948-6806) where the vehicle was diagnosed with a defective ABS control module and ABS unit, which needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who performed a brake flush, replaced brake pads and rotors. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The failure mileage was 89,000. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
