Car acceleration was uncontrollable, unable to accelerate, stalling during acceleration. Car will accelerate to 40 and then drop to 0 in a matter of seconds, all while accelerator is being pressed.

The contact owns a 2008 Ford Fusion. While driving approximately 65 mph, the vehicle lost power, including steering power. The vehicle was coasted to the side of the road, restarted, and towed to a local dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel throttle assembly needed to be replaced. The part was replaced, but the failure recurred two months later. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact back to the local dealer. The failure was not remedied. The failure mileage was approximately 46,000.

I have had to replace the transmission, the head gasket, drive shaft and carrier barrings. When I had the vehicle fixed I was told I need a new gas tank as well. My passenger side airbag compartment is rising up from the dash and I am concerned it will deploy even without an accident to initiate the deploy. Called Ford Motor Company and they were not willing to help in any way. I purchased the car in 2013 and have had problems from the start with no help from Ford. Thank you.

The contact owns a 2008 Ford Fusion. While driving approximately 60 mph, the vehicle stalled. The wrench and engine warning indicators illuminated. The contact had to maneuver to the side of the road. After two minutes, the vehicle restarted normally, but the engine warning indicator was still illuminated. The failure recurred approximately fifteen times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the codes were erroneous and the fuel throttle body assembly needed replacement. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 45,965.

Every time the vehicle gets gas, it doesn't even need to be a fill up, the entire passenger compartment is consumed with gas fumes. We took it to Ford dealers and they say there is no problem you're probably just over filling it when you get gas or they are spilling gas but that is not the issue at all, I'm positive about it. We contacted Ford corporate and they sent us to another dealer who said the same thing. I think there may be a problem which would require removal of the gas tank and they just don't want to do it. Has there been any safety recalls about this? this car is my mothers and I don't know how she hasn't passed out while driving from the fumes, it really is terrible and we have no answers. I'm a former mechanic from years and years ago and know there is a problem here, maybe a vacuum hose or fitting or the gas tank itself, I see online other years had a similar problem above the gas tank with a plastic fitting cracking. She has been dealing with this problem since she got this car two or three years ago. She did have another car hit her from behind on the drivers side bumper when parked and it was repaired at a body shop but the car was taken to the dealers after that time.

While driving at low speeds the car has on several occasions surged forward and last week after starting the car the gas pedal was unresponsive and the "wrench" warning light came on. I restarted it and it seemed to be ok but the check engine light was on. I plugged in a code reader and it gave me error codes P2104 and P2112. I can't believe this isn't part of a recall based on the number of people it is affecting.

I was driving on a highway and suddenly my engine "staled" and the wrench light came on. It forced me to pull over, shut the vehicle off, and restart it after about 2 minutes. This was the first incident. It did it a second time while doing 40mph, trying to make it home. This is the exact same behavior that is covered by the 2009-2013 electronic throttle body recall.

After I purchase my vehicle about 2 1/2 years ago I contacted my dealer multiple times in the past and I let them know it felt like my car was not accelerating properly and I was told that's just how Ford's drive. Eventually the dealer ended up having to replace the coil stating that it had been burned out in the llama problem should be fixed. Now back in August it just got completely worse. I was driving and attempted to accelerate at a green light and my car would not proceed, at that point I continued to press on the gas and eventually my car slowly picked up and begin to go now every time I accelerate my car feels as if it is stalling.

On an interstate merge ramp, the Fusion suddenly lost power and felt like it would stall. Wrench light came on and engine surged with acceleration, but never got over 40 mph. When I took my foot off the gas pedal, it felt like the car would stall; it lurched and managed to keep going very slowly. I feared for my safety on this very busy interstate. The car lurched and surged until I could get to a safe stopping point.
