The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion sport (na). The contact observed that the front windshield was cracked after the vehicle had been parked for twenty four hours. There were no cracks prior to this discovery. The crack originated on the passenger side of the windshield and extended across to the center of the driver's side. The vehicle was taken to the authorized dealer, but was not repaired. The repair would cost $600. The technician stated that a rock may have struck the windshield and caused the failure along with the heat. The defect was visible on the windshield during excessive outdoor temperatures. The windshield was not covered under the service warranty. The vehicle is in the process of being taken to an authorized dealer again for inspection and repair. The VIN was unknown. The failure and current mileages were 1,300.
