CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013 Fusion doesn’t have the same track record of power steering failure as the previous 3 model years. Of course, those owners said their steering failed at 60k–100k miles. So this appears to be a classic "wait and see" scenario.

In the meantime, there’s plenty of interior accessory problems to complain about. By themselves, each is a barely a blip on the radar. But combined, they give you that feeling of what the hell have I gotten myself into?

Took my Ford Fusion into the dealership for regular oil change. Came back 4 hrs later for them to tell me they were unable to do my oil change because the hood wouldn't open. Needless to say I was extremely upset due to the fact that I never open the hood and the dealer is the only one to open it at time of maintenance. They want to charge me $370 to fix it. My vehicle is a lease and I refuse to continue adding money into something I use. The Rack and Pinion has broken after checking the vehicle the the steering wheel was hanging by 1 screw, I have had to replace all 4 tires. These cars are a joke, never again will I own a FORD....

Plastic latch to release hood broken. Unsure how latch broke, but 1st time I attempted to use was less than 2 weeks following car being at dealer for oil change and service. On my first attempt to open hood, pulled latch and nothing happened. Realized latch was broken and had to be pushed in while pulled to release hood. Notified dealer while in for other service and they replaced part under warranty. Same plastic part. Hopefully will last longer.

About one month ago the plastic interior hood release lever broke while opening the hood. Took to the dealer, waited 2 hours for them to check it and told they had to order the part from Ford. When it arrived, made an appointment, went back to the Ford Dealership, waited 3 hours for them to install it. Today, while opening the hood the release lever broke again.

So, this will take another two trips to the dealer, 5 hours of my time, for a new vehicle with under 6,500 miles. Ford, make a stronger part. Ford, your quality is terrible!
