CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013 Fusion doesn’t have the same track record of power steering failure as the previous 3 model years. Of course, those owners said their steering failed at 60k–100k miles. So this appears to be a classic "wait and see" scenario.
In the meantime, there’s plenty of interior accessory problems to complain about. By themselves, each is a barely a blip on the radar. But combined, they give you that feeling of what the hell have I gotten myself into?
Turn signal will turn off prematurely. After pushing down the turn signal (right or left), it will intermittently turn off without turning the wheel. The car can be stationary (at an intersection) or moving forward and the turn signal stops anywhere after 1-x number of blinks. This does not occur when using the 3-blink tap. This does not occur everytime when operating the vehicle and there appears to be no apparent pattern.
I have had this car for over a year now and know how the turn signals operate. I know about the automatic lane change signal feature where the signals are supposed to flash three times when I tap the turn signal lever, but my problem is the regular turn signals cancel if the steering wheel is turned even slightly, so they cancel way short of my intended turn. The car has done this periodically in the past, but yesterday, it was a continual problem. I made sure to fully move the turn signal lever to no avail.
