I was driving about a quarter mile from my house. Car went into limp mode. I made it back home. Borrowed a code reader from O’Reilly. Code said P2111. Googled it and found out it was a failed throttle body. Also learned that these parts often fail on Ford Fusions. Bought a throttle body at dealer for $100 total with tax and new gasket. Replaced the part and it is fine so far. 2015 Fusions do not seem to be on any extended warranty or recall notices. I thought I should put the word out in case anyone else has this problem. I will file a complaint with Ford and also NTSA. I am so lucky that it was near my house. If I had been out of town, it would have been very expensive to have repaired at a shop.

Fusion SE 1.5L Ecoboost

  • Automatic transmission
  • 342 miles

Well, it's day 2 of owning my first new car in 10 years -- we drove Ford's throughout the past decade (or more) - and went with the 2015 Fusion - a leftover -- 342 miles on the odometer -- half way to work and the car stalls out (dies) in the middle of the road. Towed to another Ford dealer - no status as of this writing -- my own analysis is coming to the conclusion there were outstanding recalls that the dealer failed to fix before I purchased it -- not sure of my recourse at this juncture. Very upset!!!

Salesman quote today "Well your warranty covers everything" and "This is a Ford issue now, not the dealers" -- really? Dealer will remain nameless - until a resolution is determined. As for the recall I think it is? It's the one related to the fuel pump failing....5 more minutes I would have been on the hi-way -- thank goodness it died before I got there.....
