Wiper speed is the worst. On the highest setting the wipers cannot keep up with removing rain in a downpour. It is extremely dangerous to drive this vehicle in the rain.

People are going to be killed driving the Ford Fusion in rainy weather. The windshield wipers on high speed do not clear the water from the windshield fast enough. Traveling yesterday in the rain on rain soaked Rt. 95 just north of Baltimore I was nearly killed while along side a tractor trailer to the right of me, while passing on the left at highway speed. While attempting to pass to get away from the water the truck was throwing up because I could barely see with wipers on high speed, a second tractor trailer passed to the left of me at a high rate of speed. With all the water being thrown into the air from both trucks my visibility was zero. All I could do is grip the wheel and hope to God that I came out of it without drifting under the wheels of either truck. I was both panic stricken and completely shocked that the wipers were completely ineffective in removing the water. I was basically blinded for approximately 5 to 6 seconds while wedged in between these two trucks at 55 to 60 miles an hour. I prayed to God once the truck on the left passed and I regained some visibility. It is only a matter of time, if it has not happened already before people are killed because of the ineffective wiper speed. One would think that with all the regulations imposed by the government on automobile manufacturers that safety concerns such as wiper speed would have a standard. Apparently the people at Ford when designing vehicles do not test the effectiveness of the windshield wiper system all driving conditions. I pray no one has to die because of Ford's engineering flaws with the wiper system.

I just purchased a 2015 Ford Fusion and like it so far except that about 1 week after the purchase; I got caught in a hard rain. I found that the wipers, at the highest speed, do not clear the windshield fast enough for clear visibility. The speed limit was 45, I slowed down to 25 or less. I brought my vehicle into the dealer, they had their technician look at it and I was told there is nothing wrong with them, they also compared them to another Fusion on the premises and the speed of the wipers were similar.I am hoping for a recall soon, before accidents happen and people get hurt. I personally will not drive in the rain if at all possible; I should not have to fear driving a new car in the rain.
