owned this car since new for 3 1/2 hears. I steadily received 44-46 mpg depending on summer/winter in fl.

Roughly 10 months ago my mileage went down to 41mpg. Two months ago it has now dropped to 36mpg. I went to 2 different dealers and they said if there is no check light there is nothing they can do about it. Called Ford and they said to run a fuel consumption test. it read with good numbers around 44 mpg(without a/c, electronics, etc.). Ford customer service said there is nothing they can do. You must deal with this through your dealer. I am very disappointed that no one cares and that I have to accept a vehicle that suddenly changed from 44 mpg to 37 and they think that is ok. If ford does not even do any evaluation of my car then I will have no choice but to not buy a ford vehicle again if this is how it is going to be.

We purchased a new ford fusion hybrid titanium expecting to get 47 mpg. we drove this car almost 15,000 miles and the mpg averaged slightly under 33. The car was purchased from Watson Quality Ford, Jackson, MS and we finally got them to trade us a 2014 fusion titanium (not hybrid) in Feb. 2014. We are retired and expect to do lots of traveling. We purchased the 2013 fusion hybrid solely for the 47 mpg.

This mistake cost us several thousand dollars and think Ford should reimburse us at least part of our loss. Yes we complained in August or Sept. 2013 both to Watson and Ford Mtr Co.both said nothing was wrong with the car????

Go figure!

I only paid the ectra money on this car to save on the gas mileage and it is so far off from 47 mpg . I wrote to FORD they never wrote back. I am looking into getting a lawyer and fighting this because 5,000 extra for a car to get the same mileage as the Civic Or Mazda, I would of saved my money ! Very Angry

This is so frustrating, after spending $30K on this vehicle. Dealer says that you have to drive 1 year to get mileage advertised by Auto company.

As a previous Hybrid owner said.. I tend to try to drive very gingerly so I can try to get this 47 MPG Ford says I should be able to get. I even intentionally drive in the city instead of taking the highway. So far the highest I've been able to get is 37 mpg also.. I think Ford is not being very truthful about these numbers.

Ford stated to me that they do not know when or if they will have the part to fix my car. I am supposed to get atleast 47 mpg and I am only getting around 38. I have been waiting 3 weeks for the part to fix my car and I am now being told they are trying to reconfigure how it works. In the meantime, I am supposed to wait an infinite amount of time with a useless hybrid. There have already been 3 recalls for my car and I am sure there will be many more. I just want them to take this car and let me go on my merry way. If anyone is thinking of buying a ford fusion hybrid, don't!!!!!

I bought this car due to the advertised great 47/47 MPG. Test drove demo car in late Nov 2012 and averaged about 39 MPG at 70mph. Was ok with that at those speeds. I figured city driving would be closer to the 47MPG. Got my car in early Feb 2013 ( was on order for all those weeks) and I haven't gotten anything better than about 36MPG, but more towards the 31-32MPG. For the past 2,300 miles have averaged only 34!

I'm not heavy on the gas or brake when I drive either. I only bought the car for the fuel efficiency and it sucks!!! Anyone know how the hell they can advertise 47/47 when that is not possible unless you are going all downhill??? I would love to get rid of the this car and get something that really gets 40+ MPG. Any ideas on who I can contact to start this process? General attorney’s office maybe? I would like to get my money back and not deal with Ford at this point.

Don't be fooled by the falsely advertised MPG!!!

Fusion Hybrid ES 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 500 miles

Sticker on new car I got - on 2/21/2013 47/47mpg... dealer / salesman never said MPG will not be what the sticker says.

I now have just over 500miles... aver MPG is 34.7 I drive 120miles a day. I had a VW GOLF TDI - sticker in 2004 was 46. off the lot I got 47. just sold it... 2/2013 - I was getting 50 - 52MPG.

I'm very hurt that my new car with 9yrs of advanced technology doesn't even come close to the old car.

Update from Mar 13, 2013: Now over 1,500 miles - still no better.

Fusion Hybrid SE 2.0L

I purchased my new 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid with the understanding that it would get 47 mpg as the sticker on the car was written. I have been driving the car exactly as the manuel explains, however, I am only getting 37 mpg. This is a hug difference and it's very frustrating! I called the dealership, but they said it's the way I'm driving the car. I can understand the mpg being off maybe 3 or 4, but not a whole 10. Something is differently wrong here!
