While under normal operation at highway speed (65-70mph with cruise control on) the car alerted me to an error ("service advancetrac") and immediately deactivated: Cruise control, traction control, emergency brake assist, and a couple other systems. The check engine light also came on. The car was unable to maintain speed and began losing power. I was able to safely pull the car over to the shoulder of the highway and turn the vehicle on and off twice, the alerts and check engine light persisted through the vehicle restarts. I was able to accelerate and merge back into traffic; however, the maximum speed I was able to maintain was exactly 50mph and I think that may have only been under battery power provided by the hybrid battery system (I.e., electric drive), since no engine noise was apparent while trying to maintain speed. I was able to park at a gas station and call Ford road side service. I have an automatic adapter on the car and the adaptor reported the error code of: P2112 throttle actuator "a" control system-stuck closed. The same error code was also found by the Ford dealer, which repaired the error under warranty.
