Without any noticeable warning besides an exhaust leak in the right exhaust manifold that sealed itself off within 1 minute of starting the car, the manifold cracked in two BEFORE the flange connecting it to the exhaust pipe! When it was removed, it didn't match the part that California requires with 2 ports, one at either end, it only had one port at the rear of the manifold, so I couldn't even order a replacement because it was illegal to sell me the original part (I live in California).
When inspecting the break, it turns out that the exhaust manifold flange is only tacked on in two opposing spots on the inside of the manifold where it meets the flange! It wasn't even solid! I'm appalled that it even passed inspection and it's a wonder every other manifold hasn't broken before the flange. I had to pay $125 to have it welded back together and had the suffering of the labor endured by myself.
