- Summary
- SSM 48651 - 2020 Mustang - No Start With Steering Lock Malfunction Message And Body Control Module (BCM) DTC B1026 Some 2020 Mustang vehicles may exhibit a no start with a Steering Lock Malfunction message on the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) and diagnostic trouble code (DTC) B1026 in the BCM. Prior to following workshop manual (WSM) diagnostics, disconnect the negative battery cable per WSM section 414-01, wait 10 seconds and reconnect. After battery reconnect, cycle the ignition key 3 times and retest for no start, steering lock malfunction message and DTC B1026 in the BCM. If the concern is resolved without DTC returning, no further repairs are necessary and engineering is currently investigating this condition. Continue to monitor OASIS for further details. If concern and/or DTC return, refer to WSM section 211-05 for normal diagnostics.
