My 1995 Windstar has had problems since day 1. paint job had to be repaired; windshield had crack..replaced; sliding door was leaking and had to be adjusted 3 times; head gasket failure; timing gasket failure; wheel bushing failure; interior parts not installed properly; ABS light/elect system failure (2X); I feel so bad about this thing I don't know what to do. Ford doesn't care. I can't sell this thing with a clear conscience....but Ford did. Can you help us!!!! there are many, many others like me. I am very concerned the tranny will go next as has been reported by so many other Windstar owners when they reach the 60-75000 mile range. In addition, the timing cover gasket costs approximately $850 to fix. I don't want to pay for this repair but neither Ford or my dealer will fix the problem. Mechanics I have spoke with said to talk with the dealer...this should not happen at such a low mileage. I believe it was happening since day one intermittantly. (I have always had antifreeze leaking on my garage floor since day 1. the dealer said it was "loose fittings". so now I am stuck with it. Help us!!!

The sheet steel that comprises the body of the passenger door has torn where the door attaches to the uppermost sliding arm. When the door is opened, the door slides to an abrupt halt, causing the metal to flex on the door, eventually leading to the metal itself tearing. This is completely as a result of normal wear and useage.

Was driving when the door came ajar and light came on. Then flashed off & on. When turning, would hear a clicking noise in front wheels. The ABS light came on & the brakes made noises, as if they were catching or grabbing, to stop after being applied. Vehicle would jerk when accelerating on incline. Been to dealership at least 9 times for problems. Mechanic has not repaired problem due to not being able to duplicate.

We purchased the van with 42,00 miles on it. Since then the following repairs have been preformed since April 1998: Brakes and rotors replaced, rotors were warpped because of heat, we bought extended warranty on van to cover cost of repairs including electrical to find out it covers zip. A senor is considered a computer chip and not under warranty. The transmission had to be replaced, then after the 90 day warranty was up the senor in the transmission had to be replaced, the door senors all had to be replaced, the turn signal/curse control senor had to be replaced, the check engine light comes on about an average of every two months in this car and it costs us at least $180 each time to have it fixed. I just had the van in to check out the check engine light and have the car smoged the first week in June 1999 then two and a half weeks later as I was driving home the check engine light comes on, fumes come in throgh the vents and car starts cutting out. Had to wait til this week to take to shop so I could afford to fix it as the shops don't take payments. Contacted the 1800 # for Ford and they sugested I trade the car in. I still have 2.5 yrs to pay on this piece of Ford. This car has been down totaling 8.6 months sin the last 15 months. I find that the senors are a major defect in this van, maybe someone should check out the problem here. Also had to take van in for a recall on headgasket. I am fortunate to be able to have a back up car or I would have lost my job due to this cars cost and repairs to me, not only do I have to make the payment but also the costly repairs. This time it is costing me over $700 to fix and it has only been out of the shop less then a month.

1. front end looseness from the very beginning to the present tie bars ctc. Replaced without any noticeable improvement. 2 speedometer failure at 45K 3. power window motor (left front) quit. 3. transmission failed/ replacement (with only 17K failed.4. head gasket blew. I find in researching the defects that my experience is quite common but that Ford has not take responsibility in some of these areas -especially the failed transmissions, . it is my hope that your org. Can verify these fefects as being worthy of Ford compensating the owners who have had to pay for these mfailures of manufacture. Please advise me of the status of your work. Thank you, geary leason.
