While driving vehicle at 60mph it started to overheat. Took to dealer & the mechanic said the head gasket was blown. Also the engine cylinder head. There was damage to the engine cylinder head.
Apparently there are a large precentage of head gasket failures on Ford 3.8L engines. 2 believe Ford should warranty this problem beyond the normal warranty period. If not, I would to participate in a class action suit.
Internet site www.cartrackers.com has many, many for widstar owners with the exact same part failure-forward thrust piston (transmission) and head gasket leak. 1996 and 1997 owners are also starting to leave messages about the same problems on there Windstar.
