The ABS and other brake light stays lit constantly. I just had the car inspected and there is nothing wrong with the brakes. I have read that this is a huge problem with this model van, and has caused engine fires. I would appreciate it if you would look further into recalling this vehicle.

While driving ABS and brake light comes on 5 minutes after driving sometime not at all and now lights never go off have new brake pads and shoes took to dealer for scds recall they did not check or discuss ABS light or brake light I asked but they did not acknowledge lights or clear codes.
ABS brake lights came on. Problem has been intermittent but went from sometimes to now being on most times. ABS modules are not cheap and the feedback I have received indicates this is a wide spread problem with Ford Windstar.
The electrical system, computer, causes the dome lights to go on and off. The electric window to sometimes not work, the ABS light to come on and off, the brake light to come on and off.
ABS/brake lights turn on intermittently. There seems to be any correlation to any particular driving condition, speed, force of braking, etc. Ford dealership diagnosed the problem as an ABS module failure. They also state that failure to rectify the issue would result in probable failure of the brake system in general at any given time. The quote for the repair is anywhere up to $1,000. Ford Motor Company offered zero assistance/advice in the matter. Consequently, the driver's side window no longer functions.
ABS and brake lamps intermittently come on. ABS is disabled when the lamps are on. This problem occurs frequently. The lamps come on when you start the van and stay lit, but sometimes for weeks the lamps do not come on at all and the ABS works. I would estimate the lamps are on 60-70% of the time.
Everything was fine until recently ABS an brake light would pop on and stay on until you turn vehicle off when you started the vehicle the lights would be off until you were driving for about 30 minutes an they would pop on and now they stay on prior owner had same issue with vehicle an had it checked brake brakes were fine and ABS were supposedly fine but yet lights are on which infacts disables the ABS totally.
The contact owns a 2003 Ford Windstar. The contact stated that the anti-lock braking system warning light illuminated while sitting idle at a traffic stop. The vehicle was shut off and allowed to reset. The failure was no longer present once the vehicle was started. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to diagnose or locate a failure within the vehicle. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 120,000 and the current mileage was 122,000. Updated 11/29/12
When I apply my brakes the ABS brake light keeps coming on. To reset this light I have to pull over turn off the engine wait a few seconds and restart. This is becoming more and more of a problem. This seems to be happening all the time.
