The anti lock brakes and traction control shut off randomly. We can drive for miles and nothing happens. And other days the car barely starts moving, and the system shuts down.
I have a 2003 Ford Windstar... parking brake and ABS lights on the dashboard will light up after driving it for about 5 minutes or so... these lights are on while I drive... but when I turn the car off and start up again they stay off, until in 5 or so minutes they come on again and stay on while I'm driving till next time I shut the car off. Is at its worse when the weather is hot. This disengages the ABS brakes I depend on especially with winter weather approaching. My complaint is that Ford dealers said this is not a recall item and I believe this should be since there seems to be a lot of folks with this same issue. Thank you.
ABS light comes on as soon as the vehicle goes in forward motion and stays on through entire driving cycle. The other brake warning lamp also illuminates intermittently while driving. More frequently in damp/wet weather.

2003 Ford Windstar driving at speed of 40mph my ABS and brake light indicator light up. Garage did a code reset but the ABS and the brake did not go away, garage unplugged the battery and plugged it back and the ABS and the brake light disappeared.
My ABS lights all come on and off randomly. This has occurred for months. And is not more frequent. I went to my garage and nothing is wrong with the brake lines. I saw other complaint online of this for this vehicle and that there will be a recall on this situation. I am hoping to get this resolved.
Parking brake and ABS lights on the dashboard will light up after driving it for about 5 minutes. Obd II code reads eec test pulled codes C1185-C1194-C1198-C1210-C1214-C1242-C1246-C1250-C1254. If codes are cleared C1185 now returns immediately.
Brake light and ABS lights are on, brakes are fine, fluid level is fine, but light is on. ABS now not working. Speedometer does not go above 40 mph until driven at least 3 miles, this is also causing the cruise control to not work smoothly. Transmission is not shifting into overdrive, transmission is clean and working. All of these issues began within a few weeks of each other.
The ABS warning light came on. The brakes still seemed to work ok. After taking the vehicle to the Ford dealer, we were advised that the ABS was not working and in the event of a quick stop being necessary, we should pump the brakes to prevent the tires from skidding. Repair of the vehicle was going to exceed $1200.
ABS and brake warning lights on ip on - fluids checked as full - lights on with most driving - occasional will be on then go off for subsequent drives. No loss of brake feel or stopping ability. Brakes checked okay at last tire rotation service by conoco station.
ABS and brake lights on dash come on after they warm up. This use to happen only in the summer months. Now it happens all year round.. it only takes a few miles before the lights come on.
ABS light came on, followed by the brake light. This problem began as an intermittent problem and has progressed to a continuous problem. Car currently has over 170000 miles. The dealer has given multiple opinions on the issue to include: ABS module defect, ABS sensor defect.
