First problem is the trunk door. About a week ago I was getting something out of my trunk and accidently hit the button and the door started to close so i tried to get away from it and somehow my arm got caught and there is absolutly NO sensor to stop the trunk from crushing my arm. Unforunately, i did have some injury to my arm from the trunk coming down and have pictures of the brusing on my arm. A sensor to stop the trunk from closing on a body part or anything for that matter needs to be better made or put in the vehicle. I took pictures of my arm days later because i was in to much pain to take them when it happened. It was not a fun injurying. Saturday night iced it, sunday had to have it elevated because it was so swollen, didnt take the picture until Wednesday when it finally had calmed down. There is bruising and swelling still on Wednesday. this happened July 9th Second problem i recently had an issue with my wiring i guess it was. Specifically it was reduced engine power message displayed and my engine stalled out on me. I was told that this is a common problem with Buick Enclaves, Chevrolet Traverses, and GMC Acadia's which is the car i have. Being that this is a common issue wouldnt this be something that would be concerned a RECALL? i dont know how recalls so im more curious about it. my car stalled out on me in the middle of traffic on July 16th

Gas gauge does not read accurately. We have ran out of gas one time due to this issue, resulting with us stalling in the middle of a busy street. Now that that has occurred gas is put into the tank every few days but gas gauge still only registers 1/4 of tank to -€œLow Range-€. MULTIPLE OCCASIONS!

When turning on the car it immediately gave a check engine light, began violently shuddering, and ran "service stabilitrak" "traction control off" and "reduced engine power" warnings. We have taken it to 2 different dealerships and they keep telling us nothing is wrong with the vehicle. We have even called GMC service line directly and explained that this occurs while we are driving the car and the vehicle will sometimes completely shut off. This time the vehicle was parked and initially turned on. We restarted the car and it took two tries before it appeared to start "normally." The check engine light is still on.

My Acadia has shut off without warning multiple times. Today, I was in a parking lot picking up a prescription. The car was idling while I was waiting in the pick-up lane and then shut off. The dash remained on and gave the following warnings: Traction control off, engine power reduced, service stabilitrack. I tried to restart the engine only to have the car shutter violently while idling. I turned the car off again and then restarted for a second time. This time it restarted as normal and the check engine light came on. I have taken it to a dealer 4 times since October as it has shut off while driving and making a turn. The dealer says there are no codes in the diagnostics and cannot find a problem. I'm terrified to drive the car. I saw a recall from 2014 about an electrical short but I don't know if that was already fixed on this vehicle since I bought it used. I also don't know if this is even related to that recall.

Traction control sensor turns on-service stabilitrak-engine loses power-car dies while driving at any speed. Turn the car off wait for awhile and sometimes it will turn over and everything is fine. The issue is slowly happening more often and taking longer to start back up.

While driving on the highway my car began shuttering and the warning system went off stating the traction control had gone off. Then it said engine power reduced, service engine, and service traction. The car began shaking and immediately slowed down. I pulled over and turned off the car. Upon restarting the car I received a message that said traction control on. But the engine light came on. This is the second time this has occurred. The first time it happened I took my car to the dealership to which they said they couldn't find anything wrong with it. After doing a google search today, I found that this seems to be a common problem in GMC Acadia and I am shocked that it hasn't be reported/recalled. In retrospect, I have noticed that sometimes when I accelerate, the car will fail to shift gears in a timely manner and jerk forward when it finally does so. I was on the highway with all three of my children in the car when this happend!

Timing chain/belt. SUV is making a loud rattle when turning vehicle on. I got this issue "fixed" last yea right at 79,000 miles. Warranty paid for it. 20,000 miles late I am having the same issue again, rattle noise, engine light on, air bag light is on. It worries that this will be a major if it gives out while I am driving with my kids.

While driving coming to our destination stop, at bout 1000ft left, my 2014 Acadia just started shaking, and misfiring and losing power. On the steering column, the notification states, traction system light came on, and check engine light. We then came to a complete stop and put in park, then started driving again and went off after 2-3 minutes. Then powered off and check engine light remains, and others off.

Engine reduced power. Vehicle will no longer start. I was driving and lost power while driving. I pulled over even though power steering was not working.had car towed to conley automotive, wimberley, tx. Diagnosis from conley said faulty fuse box. They said it was a technical service bulletin problem. I input my VIN# on NHTSA and foind recall on ECM, electronic control module. When I spoke with the service dept at chuck nash Chevy dealership, they said no recalls were noted on my vehicle. I am extremely upset that this in fact is the issue with my car. How do I add my vehicle to the safety recall?

We have taken the vehicle to a GMC dealership and they cannot help us. They repaired several random parts. Mine fixed the problem. The car seems to stall in between gears. Randomly driving sown the road and the car will stall and then catch. Sometimes it is terrifying. And now we are experiencing hot air flow in the cabin and the back air won't stay on consistently. It shuts off and then on. It's incredibly frustrating.

Water leaks in floor board. Yesterday, there is no sound in vehicle at all (no radio no blinking noise when blinker is turned on.)

The auxiliary evaporator blower motor on GMC Acadia's emits brush dust that contains copper particles. These copper particles are blown onto the evaporator core of the vehicle which frequently leads to corrosion and creates a refrigerant leak, causing the air conditioning unit to stop working or only blow hot or warm air. The evaporator on my 2014 Acadia has been replaced twice. Once at 44,235 miles and just recently at 84,510 miles. The service manager that I spoke with shared with me that this is a very common problem with GMC Acadia's but GM refuses to acknowledge or correct the issue. These evaporators should be fine for the life of the car, but there is a clear defect in the manufacturing that is causing the air conditioning unit to fail. Although this is not a safety issue it is a defect issue that could be a safety issue because of excessive heat as a result of this ac failure. Please address this problem and get GM to replace any further failures for all Acadia owners!

8/28/18 - vehicle unexpectedly had jerking/shaking at around 40mph with various service messages - stabilitrak, traction on, traction off, and all wheel drive. Traction skid light illuminated. Once above 40 mph, no more jerking. Speedometer was flying up and down intermittently as well. Once parked and shut off for an hour, I started vehicle and no issues. Drove it to repair shop and they were unable to replicate the issue. It definitely felt like the vehicle wanted to stall. Now I'm nervous to drive it because I'm sure it will happen again unexpectedly. This occurred on local streets with 45 mph speed limits.

The auxiliary evaporator blower motor on GMC Acadias emits brush dust that contains copper particles. These copper particles are blown onto the evaporator core of the vehicle which frequently leads to corrosion and creates a refrigerant leak, causing the air conditioning unit to stop working or only blow warm air. The evaporator has been replaced twice on my Acadia and it went out again on July 30, 2018 (potentially sooner, but I noticed the lack of cold air on the 30th). The certified technician that I spoke with shared with me that this is a very common problem with GMC Acadias but General Motors refuses to acknowledge or correct the issue. A simple online search shows many different Acadia owners sharing similar experiences where they have to frequently pay to replace the evaporator once the vehicle is out of warranty. These evaporators should be fine for the life of the car, but there is a clear defect in the manufacturing that is causing the air conditioning unit to fail. While this might not be considered a safety concern or complaint, I have two young children and have great concerns over driving my vehicle in the summer without air conditioning. Please take my concerns seriously and investigate the multitude of complaints online about this specific issue.
