problem #2

Acadia Denali V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 3,075 miles

The first night we had occasion to drive at night and in the rain, I was afraid I wouldn't make it home without having an accident. Literally I could not see the road 10' in front of me. Oncoming cars helped me determine my side of road, but when no cars coming or in front of me you couldn't see which way the road went or if you were in a turn.

This should not have happened. Engineers should have tested brightness and angle of beam to insure proper lighting for night or rainy driving. GM should be required to replace with Brighter LED's.

Acadia SLT-1 V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 100 miles

Since purchasing the vehicle new, the headlights have been awful. It's hard to even recognize a change when switching to bright, and there's no light to the side/ditches whatsoever - turning off the highway onto a country road is actually compromised because of the severe lack of visibility. I put on a lot of country miles and am always fearful of deer collisions because the visibility is so bad.

Driving in the rain last week was what motivated me to finally do more than complain. A call to the dealer yielded no recall information but a suggestion to make an appointment to have the service techs look at it, which will likely result in an expense and no solution.

Has anyone added aftermarket bulbs or a light bar with good results? My driving was drastically reduced during the pandemic, but now that road trips are common, I'm committed to a solution before I'm involved in an accident.
