transmission problem
I bought my 2019 in 2021 with very low miles. No mention of there being a problem. Don't have 20,000 miles and the shift to park message started coming up. I feel like it is still a new vehicle and now having problems with it. It still only has 22,000 miles and the problem is happening more and more. I feel like a fool when I have to turn the car back on and go in reverse and then forward several different times just to shut the vehicle off. About to go trade it in and get a more reliable vehicle. Was in love with my vehicle until this started happpening. Would not recommend to anyone to purchase an acadia now.

This issue of saying you need to shift to park, while in park is super frustrating. I will be contacting my dealership this week, I did purchase an extended warranty. I hope it is covered, and I hope it’s not a reoccurring problem.
I waited years to buy a new vehicle and previously had a Toyota Matrix. I will update after I seek service, but thoughts of trading it in are crossing my mind. And not for another GMC!!

My 2019 Acadia keeps beeping when the car is in park and I shut it off with an error message 'shift to park'. I have to turn the car back on multiple times, shift the car out of park and back into park multiple times. I am now doing this 10 times or more. I called the dealer after researching that this is an issue with the car and have not issued a recall. This is a problem. We are no longer driving the vehicle for fear of getting stuck out in it with no way to clear the alarms. I have scheduled the vehicle to go into GMC tomorrow AM.

If/when it finally fails, I hope I'm by a dealership, because you can't turn the car off.

There has to be an electrical issue between the the shifter trigger and the neutral safety switch since I have to squeeze the trigger to get it to acknowledge it’s in park. The car is very finicky on when it acknowledges park and when it doesn’t.
