I bought this GMC Acadia when it had 48,000 miles. When it hit 55,000 I started to notice the tranny stumbling between gears. By the time I got it to a shop it was pretty bad. The mechanic who fixed it did so by draining the tranny fluid, adding a non-slip additive, and refilling with tranny fluid.

He told me I was lucky. It doesn't work on every car. If this didn't fix it I would have needed to replace the torque converter. He told me that job would have been roughly $3,500.
