The 6.2 engine failed a non-AFM lifter at 58,000 miles. The local GMC dealer replaced the camshaft, lifters, AFM oil manifold and drained and filled the oil. At 65,000 miles, a main bearing seized when we were away from home. We had to wait 47 days from the time I took the truck into a GM service shop until I got the truck back. The first repair (camshaft, lifters) cost me $4200 after GM helped with some of the cost. The engine replacement cost of $18,680 was split between GM and myself (wasn't that nice!) so my portion was over $9300. Now I can't trust this engine for long distance trips.

2 engine failures in 4 years that I have to pay for.

I have a 2018 GMC Sierra 1500 that has been nothing but trouble. At 65,000 miles, I had to have a new engine installed 100% my expense of $100000i because of oil pressure issues. The extended warranty vendor, Endurance, refused to pay 1 cent of the bill even though it was still under warranty, stating that the tire size was 1 size larger than permitted. I made every effort to have GMC, and the dealer honor the extended warranty, but after months of back and forth and with a final refusal from all parties. I finally gave up the fight and had the dealer install a new engine in July 2020 with only 65,000 miles on the engine. The GM dealer issued a 3 year/36,000 warranty on this engine and I went on my way.

Now today, 2 years to the day, the "new" engine has now failed for the exact reason as before with both diagnostic reports showing the identical issue for both the old engine and the "new engine". only 50,000 miles on this engine with the same failure after only 2 years...Seems strange that 2 new engines would only last about 2 years with very low mileage on both. Of course, the warranty has expired on the "new engine" and now I have a 2018 GMC Truck that I paid $57, 000 for, then 2 years later, another $10,000 b ill for a new engine....and now, it will be almost $17,000 for another new engine, not to mention a number of computer issues that left me stranded multiple times, that GMS and/or the dealer would not pay for. My question is this: Based on the above information and experience with this "Lemon", does my experience seem to be an outlier, or have other consumers experienced these same kinds of failure to warranty their vehicles by GMC, Endurance Warranty and the GMC dealership? If so, please provide data to support this failure and what action the consumers have taken and the results thereto.
