The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the fuel pump module sensor had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 82,000. The VIN was not available.

The contact stated that while stopped at a red light on several occasions, while the accelerator pedal was depressed, the vehicle jerked and then accelerated. The contact stated that when the accelerator pedal was released, the vehicle continued to accelerate. The brake pedal was depressed to slow down the vehicle. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the fuel pump module needed to be replaced.
