high idle and low fuel economy (13 mph at 65 mph!!!) G M C S U C K S!!!!!!!!!!!! NEVER IN ANYONE'S LIFE SHOULD A PERSON HAVE A PROBLEM LIKE THIS AFTER PAYING $62K FOR A BRAND NEW VEHICLE!!!

DO NOT BUY A GMC PRODUCT PEOPLE!!! GMC UPPER MANGEMENT STAFF WILL NOT WORK WITH YOU!!!*

THIS IS OUR PROBLEM WITH GMC PRODUCT: HIGH IDLE ISSUE & VERY POOR MILEAGE- Normal idle is 600 RPM, getting 20 miles per gallon at 65 MPH. If we drive 2 blocks down the road it goes up to 800 RPMs & stays there for DAYS, causing the vehicle to get ONLY 13 miles per gallon at 65 MPH for 5 1/2 hours of travel!

Recently we replaced 2 batteries with new ones, hoping this would solve the high idle issue because we were told it was possibly high idled due to the vehicle trying to charge low batteries. We also changed the coolant temperature sensor, hoping the sensor would be the problem and the computer not picking up the temperature causing the high idle.

Both had negative results...

We've had this truck for 4 1/2 years and this problem has occurred for approximately a dozen times but only for a few days at a time.

Now it has become a PERMANENT situation and there is NO light indicator that goes on in the vehicle.

We have taken it to GMC service several times when it was still under the warranty and after the warranty expired as well. GMC ALWAYS comes back saying "The vehicle is doing what it is designed to do..." Well GMC, thats BULLSHIT!! We are the ones that drive this vehicle and we take EXCELLENT care of it. GMC does NOT want to THINK outside the box as to what else could be the problem, they trust a stupid computer instead of listening to a human!!

Plus, we have replaced a DEF tank and a catalytic converter!! Wow GMC, really???!!! The truck is only 4 1/2 yrs old!!!

Does anyone have this problem or solution to this issue????

We will be going to ANYONE that would listen to us, such as Dateline NBC, they might just listen if they've received enough complaints on GMC products!! Especially since there have been so many complaints on the auto industries...
