I have had 2 Toyota Prius' and my wife wanted to try another hybrid so the Honda seemed like a good option because it was rated at 50mpg like my Prius. Well the first few hundred miles we were pleased because it was getting about the advertised MPG rating at 50 city and 45 highway. But it went downhill from there and I just got back from a 1200 mile trip and I averaged 32mpg. Why did I pay almost 10 grand more for a hybrid when the regular Accord gets better mileage than 32. So what did the dealer say. Well it is NORMAL to get lower mileage because of winter blend gas. My two Prius cars do drop a mile or two in cold weather but not 20%. Also, the mileage drop started in July not December.

I want my money back. Honda is lying to customers. Maybe the same guy who runs Volkswagen also runs Honda. What a bunch of cheats. I will take legal action if I have to, this is crazy.

Bought a 2015 Accord Hybrid in Oct 2014, car now has 5600 miles on odometer and the reason for buying a Honda Accord Hybrid is for gas mileage, but I am getting less than 40mpg every tank. Worse I have seen is 34mpg, best mpg I got so far is 40mpg. On highways car won't use battery at all, engine is driving the wheels all the time. I am averaging at least 20% less than the EPA numbers 47 combined. Also car makes a loud noise when battery is low to drive and charge at the same time. Below are some annoying issues about my car.

1. Audio and phone calls are audible from outside the car with all windows up and doors fully closed even at moderate volume. 2. Acceleration and engine noise are out of sync, engine revs high and car won't move, this is because engine is trying to charge batter and run generator to propel wheels, which is annoying in a hybrid car which is expected to be quiet. 3. Sh*tty audio system, literally no bass, listening for more than 10 minutes is giving me headache because sound is too flat with sharp highs. 4. Adaptive cruise control has a delay when regaining the speed back , also car won't stop to avoid collision, It will just alert driver to brake. 5. MPG nowhere close to EPA numbers, at least 20% off, just like consumer reports test proves. 6. Rattles everywhere, I am still troubleshooting to find where the noise is coming from, but it appears to be from passenger side. 7. Electric drivetrain whining noise can be clearly heard below 20 mph while accelerating and braking. This could be CVT or electric motor.
