On Thursday the 2nd of December 2021 at 8:50 AM, I was driving by myself on the freeway heading to work and the hood popped up and smashed my entire windshield. I was unable to see and luckily managed to pull over to the left hand side of the road without hitting anything or anyone. I could have easily been hit by another car traveling at 70-80 miles per hour. Although glass shards hit me, I did not receive any personal injury. Stauffer Towing towed the vehicle to Caliber Collision. The windshield was replaced on Friday December 3rd by Caliber Collision in Salt Lake City. Caliber Collision also inspected the hood and related components. The hood will require replacement because the hinges were so badly damaged and I had to remove the hood so that this won't happen again. The hood latch had released and I later noticed that the metal supporting the latch is also having issues. The latch has been giving problems with opening and closing properly at times.

Takata recall during a January snowfall and freeze, I was traveling in the middle lane of the highway at approximately 50-60 miles per hour, with the speed of traffic. A car approximately 7-8 car lengths ahead of me began to break and I did too. I was breaking when my car began to fishtail and I was able to maintain control of the car for 2-3 seconds before hitting a patch of ice and spinning into the highway concrete median. My car did not hit any other vehicles before hitting the median on the driver side front and hood. I estimate that I was traveling over 40 miles an hour. The car then spun around and hit the back drivers side and then spun again to facing forward. My concern is that the airbags, which were replaced in the takata recall a few years ago did not go off. The car was considered totaled and was donated.

I was driving in the left lane to go straight at an intersection. A gentleman who was in the right lane attempted to move into the left lane and subsequently hit the front passenger side of my vehicle damaging the passenger side door, front fender and hood.

Exterior paint is flaking off and is down past its clear coat. The most concentrated area this is occurring/has occurred is on the outside of the truck lid in addition to the outside roof of the car. I'm not sure if this is only occurring in certain colors or with certain paint Honda used but, fiji blue pearl is the color of my Civic and this has been an ongoing issue since around 2011 and now rust in beginning to appear in areas. Please advise.

Paint started to fade in 2011 and this year it had progressed rapidly. The whole back half of the roof has faded to the metal and it's starting to on the trunk. Also the clear coat is flaking off on the rear bumper. I've investigated this matter multiple times and the local Honda dealership does nothing. So I did some research online and come to find put I'm not the only one. Hundreds of thousands of Honda owners have had the same exact problem. I just would like to get the paint corrected the way it was supposed to be done when I bought the car brand new 10 years ago. I thought Honda were supposed to last a "lifetime" right? not six years.

The contact owns a 2004 Honda Civic. The contact stated that the driver's side door could not be opened from the interior or the exterior of the vehicle. The passenger's side door also could not be opened when using the key. The contact would have to enter and exit the vehicle through the trunk. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but due to the mileage, she was referred to the manufacturer. The manufacturer was contacted but provided no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 215,000.

The clearcoat has entirely burned away from the roof, hood and trunk and is spreading to the side panels resulting in a milky, splotchy appearance. I'm not sure how much damage this will do or if it will shorten the life of the vehicle but I do know it's unacceptable and it looks very damaged.
