This model car has a documented issue with the start clutch performance. This issue creates a safety hazard due to the unpredictable acceleration it causes. Despite re-surfacing procedures, the issue will return. This is not simply a wear issue, the part(s) and/or design are faulty. This is common knowledge among Honda mechanics who are familiar with this model. Please let me know if you need more info or details.

Takata recall: Top of fuel pump under back seat cracked on top with no other visible damage causing fuel to spray in to the compartment under the seat resulting in strong fuel fumes and gas leaking under the car around the exhaust system which can result in a fire or health issues associated with gas fumes.

The contact owns a 2004 Honda Civic. While driving at various speeds, the headlights became dim and hindered the contact's visibility. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the reflector needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal and the vehicle failed to accelerate. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 224,000.
