Clearcoat is peeling very badly on roof. Starting on the hood and fenders. Local Honda dealer said that Honda will pay for repainting affected areas - but coverage is VIN specific and my car was NOT included.

Paint is fading on one side of the car. It's ridiculous. I always buy Honda. I'm going to buy something else next time.

The roof peeled first and was covered under waranty. Now a few years later, the doors are peeling. This is clearly Hondas fault and they should be repairing the paint.

The paint problem of the 2007 Civics is well documented. Honda extended the warranty on the paint for 7 years, meaning it ran out in 2014. Under the extended warranty my car was repainted twice - first time they would only paint the hood, second time they would only paint the roof and the trunk. Each time I had to leave the car there for about two weeks, with no coverage of rental. At the time the problem already extended to other parts of the car, such as the top of the rear panels, but they would not paint them, because the recall only said roof and trunk.

Now the extended warranty has expired, and the problem continues to spread - front fenders, doors, rear panels - clearly, the whole car needs to be repainted. It looks awful. What is the logic in Honda admitting that it is at fault, but then treating only certain parts of the car, and limiting the repair to 7 years, when the problem continues to spread? it is like a doctor diagnosing a problem with both of your arms, but only treating one of them...Honda should extend the warranty on the paint, and pay for repainting the full car.

Paint/clear coat is peeling on my Honda Civic and Honda is telling me that it is not covered. It is clearly a widespread problem with Hondas and they should step up and fix it. It looks awful and it is embarrassing to drive it. Honda knows they used inferior paint so they should pay for a re-paint. I am not letting this go!

Paint clouding and clear coat peeling, beginning just after the warranty extension. Warranty was extended to 7 years, but the clouding did not appear until after the very short notice I received of the warranty extension before it expired in 2014. Would cost thousands to repaint and devalues my car!

I took the car to local Honda dealer a couple months ago and mentioned the TSB I'd read about. They looked it up, made a phone call and told me my color was not included in the TSB. Just because I have a rare Civic color (Habanero Red) doesn't mean I don't have the same problem as the other colors, it's just their excuse to exclude as much as they can.

Not even having the car waxed avoids the peeling. I have an ugly looking car which runs decently.

This is the second area of clear coat failure on this vehicle. Noted a haziness on the trunk about a month ago. Car has been garaged or in a carport for as long as I have owned it. The first area was on the roof. The dealership covered it under warranty, and had it repainted. Took it back when I noticed the trunk, but they won't fix it as it is no longer under warranty.

I bought this car brand new. This was my first Honda and I was very excited, as I know Hondas are supposed to built well. A couple of months ago the clear coat started to peel off of the hood, then the front fenders and then both doors just under the window. I have never had a garage kept car and this is the first time that this has ever happened to a car that I've owned. It looks awful and it's going to cost a small fortune to have the whole car repainted. Why is this happening? It looks AWFUL. And I am extremely disappointed in Honda.
