This vehicle was totalled in March 2008 (about 6 weeks old) and was transferred to state farm insurance. It has not been in my possession since then. The car was crushed into the guardrails on an acceleration ramp by a tractor trailer. Both sides of the car were damaged bumper to bumper as well as the rear, the left front wheel and right rear wheels were destroyed and ripped from the car. The right rear quarter area of the unibody was crushed. None of the airbags deployed in the accident. I advised Honda motor quite some time ago of these facts. Please contact state farm about this vehicle's disposition.

The car has a problem with the SRS wiring harness that controls airbag deployment and driver and passenger safety. This causes the airbag light to come on and prevents proper deployment. The problem is extremely common in Honda, specifically 8th generation cars. The cause is a poorly made wire that gets caught in the passenger seat track, causing a short in the wire. It can only be repaired properly and safely by removing the entire wiring harness and replacing it. This requires that the carpeting and the dashboard be removed and takes 6-8 hours worth of work, and is replaced with a $200-400 part depending on where you take it. It cannot be fixed easily or affordably by the consumer, and prevents the car from being safe to drive or passing inspections in the state of Virginia. The problem may have occurred sooner, as the vehicle was only purchased used a few months ago. It happens in most Honda and is not covered by the manufacturer's 150,000 mile warranty on other parts despite having released a tsb to all dealerships because the problem is so common. It presents a danger to drivers and deserves to have a recall issued.

**airbags deployed after driving over pothole** I drive a 2008 Honda Civic 2dr with 160K miles. On March 15, 2018 I was traveling northbound I-294 when my vehicle collided with a pothole at approx. 65 mph and the driver curtain and driver seat airbag deployed. The impact wasn't hard enough to damage my wheel or body of the car. The pothole should not of interrupted the SRS system. This is a result of a defect in Honda's air bag/restraint system.

I have had to have the sun visor/airbags on my 2008 Honda Civic replaced 3 times because something keeps popping in them. Honda replaced the first 3 times under warranty. The fourth time it popped, Honda said that they were out of warranty and they would not replace them for free. I feel Honda should still be responsible for the replacements, as they keep replacing the sun visors with the same old crappy ones that break within 2 years. Hopefully, we can get Honda to take the responsibility for knowingly replacing the parts, with parts they know are defective.

Contacted sussman Honda dealer by phone regarding remedying passenger frontal airbag recall. Was told I would need to email. Sent email on 08/01/2016. No reply. Emailed again on 09/23/16, no reply. Called dealer and after a bit of "phone tag" and the service department struggling to find my VIN, info, etc. I was told the parts were already on order and I would be contacted when they were in. It is now a full year later, and I have not heard anything. My vehicle is still under recall and the issue has not been repaired.

The contact owns a 2008 Honda Civic. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer (carbone Honda in bennington, Vermont) in 2013 where it was diagnosed that the driver side curtain air bag failed. The dealer reprogrammed the air bag system; however, the failure recurred. Since that time, the vehicle was included in the takata recall for the passenger side air bag. The vehicle received the repair; however, the air bag warning indicator remained illuminated. The contact returned the vehicle to the dealer where it was diagnosed that due to an opening on the driver side curtain air bag's first inflator, the air bag warning indicator illuminated and the air bag failed. The driver side curtain air bag needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened case number: 06206996. The approximate failure mileage was 162,178.

Takata recall - we reached out to grossinger Honda (6600 N western ave, Chicago, il 60645) regarding the recall in September of 2016. They said they were ordering the parts and would reach out when they arrived. This dealership never ordered the parts nor did they reach out. We called a second time (in November 2016) and they said the same thing - that they needed to order the parts. This dealership never ordered the parts nor did they reach out either time. I'm writing this as a formal complaint against grossinger Honda for ignoring customer recalls rather than performing the required repairs within the 60 day window.

I purchased a 2008 Honda Civic in April of 2016, after I was in an accident where both of my front air bags deployed. Shortly after purchasing the 2008 Honda Civic I discovered there was a front passenger airbag recall. I immediately called my local Honda dealership. They took down my information and said that they would call me when the airbag can be fixed. The recall letter states 'in the event of a passenger frontal airbag inflator rupture, metal fragments could pass through the airbag cushion material, potentially resulting in injury to vehicle occupants. The risk of such occurrence increases over time.' It has now been a year since I reported the recall and have yet to be contacted to have it fixed. Due to my recent accident where both airbags deployed, I fear that I am in danger and this is the car that I have to drive daily. I have tried contacting Honda about my concerns and they have not responded. I just want them to buy my unsafe car back from me so that I can buy a safe vehicle to drive.

I was contacted last summer (2016) regarding a recall on my airbag via a letter in the mail. I called to make a repair appointment with my local Honda dealer, they told me they didn't have the replacement parts in yet and they would call me back when they arrived. I called again in the fall (2016) and was told more or less that they were "busy" and had a lot of cars to repair and I should continue to wait. I called again in the fall 2016 and was told the person handling the airbag recall was busy or unavailable and to call back again. I've received a second notice in the mail in April 2017 regarding my air bag recall. This notice says that if the Honda dealer has failed or unable to remedy the defect in my vehicle without charge within a reasonable period of time (60 days) I can file a complaint. It's approaching nearly a year since I was first contacted and I tried to make an appointment three times with my local Honda dealership to have this air bag replaced. I feel I've been very patient with this recall, as I've had other items recalled over the past year and replacements were made for those items in a much more reasonable amount of time. I find it unacceptable to be put off and told Honda is too busy to make a safety feature repair anything but a top priority.
