2009+ Civic Si's valve cover leak on front driver side due to factory overspray of paint; Honda addressed this with a TSB. The fix is really simple just finely shave off the paint on the front, left corner groove of valve cover where the gasket sits; light engine oil leak if oil is very thin. You can notice the light oil between the valve cover and engine block.

Brought 2009 Civic in for an Oil consumption problem.. on 2/21/2011 After my wife noticed the Engine "Wrench" light illuminate, she Check the oil & found the stick DRY...After listening to a little sales B.S. the guy then tries to sell me new brakes, tires, & a Cabin air filtration system...Never really addressing the oil problem Stating Honda allows for 1 quart consumption per 1000 miles.. Whadda bunch of CRAP.. I have a 96 Accord that I beat the crap out of With 143K on it & it does not leak, burn or consume ANY OIL... The service manager's response to that was "I;m sorry, we'll change the oil & MONITOR the situation" We now have to bring the car to them every 500 miles so they can record how much oil is being consumed... I was also told this is common for newer vehs, that this MGR worked for Toyota & had similar experience with their small veh's... Again... Whadda bunch of CRAP
