Civic Hybrid 1800

  • Automatic transmission
  • 150,000 miles

A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

I bought this Honda Civic Hybrid vehicle from Von Bibra Motors Gold Coast Queensland Australia on 3/10/2013 as I needed a good reliable vehicle, as in my business, I travel approx. 1000 kilometers a week and I also wanted a good economical (RELIABLE) vehicle.

The vehicle ran well and I had no complaints until firstly, the gearbox went at about 150000 kilometers. This cost me $4500.00. to repair, as it was making a grinding noise and when I took it in to have repaired, I was told that when the oil was drained from the gearbox, there was a lot of metal in the oil.

I thought this was the end of it , and 20000 kilometers further and in November 2017, I had major electrical problems, which it seems, Honda can't fix, and the dealer still has the vehicle. It's now three months later and 13th February 2017

In November 2016, and at 170000 kilometers, lights came on the dashboard, advising that I had a major electrical problem, so I took it to the local Honda Dealer in Hervey Bay Qld. where I now live . (Bay City Autos).

I then said O.K. and we agreed to order the part. This was about the 12th December 2016. The part had not arrived by Christmas Time and I was becoming somewhat desperate as I had no work vehicle, so ended up purchasing another vehicle.

I received a phone call from Bay City Autos about the 6th January 2017, advising that the part had arrived, and they were about to make the repairs to my vehicle.

I received another call from the service manager about the 12th January 2017, advising that they had inserted the new part and now there was another electrical problem, so the vehicle still was not repaired.

I suggested that they call Honda and speak to them about the problem, and he stated that he had already spoken to someone at Honda, and they had stated, that this is the first time ( A PIONEER PROBLEM) that they had had such a problem, and that they now required more money to fix the problem.

I agreed to pay another $500.00. for further diagnosis and repair.

I have since made my own inquiries, and it seems that there is another 2012 Honda Hybrid, in Sunnybank Hills Brisbane, that had a similar problem to mine, and Honda were unable to fix his problem, so the owner ended up selling the vehicle for $3000.00. (For parts I presume) and being a 2012 Honda Hybrid also.

I am still awaiting a call from Bay City Autos, to advise where my vehicle is at, but it seems customer service is not part of their business, so I wait in anticipation.

If anyone likes LEMONS, I have a big one for sale.

Civic

  • Automatic transmission
  • 200 miles

i bought last year a Honda Civic fom Honda Laval (Montreal)

1. During the negotiations the dealer accepted to offer me the snow tires for free. After signing, I realized i was charged for the tires (more than $700).

2. I noticed a noise in the car. The technician from Honda said the 4 mufflers had to be replaced. i checked with another garage they said the mufflers were ok and it was a defect of construction.

I wrote to the dealer, I phoned several times Honda Canada but no answer, no help ,no solution . i m plannig to sell this lemon

Conclusion: Avoid buying a Honda . Honda Canada doesn t give a damn.
