Steering wheel dash light immediately illuminated after starting the car. Screen displayed a "Check Power Steering System" error. The steering wheel was EXTREMELY difficult to turn, but I was eventually able to drive to the mechanic about 10 miles away.

The shop installed a new rack and pinion. This appeared to resolve the issue until one week later when the same issue reappeared with the exact same symptoms.

Took it back to the shop and they replaced the EPS module, which solved the issue for good.

On my way to work I had two indicators come on at the same time. One was saying my stability control was failing and the other said my power steering was failing. I read in the manual that continued operation with these indicators on could result in total failure of the steering system. I had to have the car towed to the shop. They of course could find no issue. ( the lights were on when the car was unloaded by the tow truck driver) I was told there were no lights on and that the history had no record of them having come on. This is a case of having reset the history in the car. I was signing in the car and could see a technician hooking something up just under the left side of the dash board so I am confident that this is what happened. Not sure it is coming across just how mad I am about all the issues with a car I paid cold hard cash for.

NOT a comforting feeling driving a car that sets off a warning light that the manual says can result in total steering failure down the interstate in the dark every morning!

I bought this car because I needed something SAFE and that is NOT what I am feeling every day driving it.
