This is at least the 2nd time this has happened to me, maybe more. Driving along minding my own business, nothing out of the ordinary when all of a sudden all of my warning lights come on. Each system (power steering, emissions, brake system, brake system hold, vehicle stability assist, hill start assist, road departure) is showing as a failure on the center dash rendering all of those features useless in the process. I also notice a loss of power, like the turbo isn't working. It feels sluggish when punching the gas. Normally it's pretty peppy. And despite the warning that there are brake problems, I sense no difference in the brake pedal. I love my Honda, but this is QUITE annoying!!!

I'm 2 years into my lease on this car and I already had to change the Body Computer. Then this morning I head out for work, let the car warm up, put it in reverse and it jumped a little, which I put off to maybe it was cold or because I had not driven for a while. Anyway, I pull and 10 yards later, I'm getting beeping and flashing message saying the transmission system has failed the brake hold system is not working..and I don't know know what the hell else because I pulled into a parking spot and shut the thing off. WTF...it's 2 years old!

I leased my 2016 Civic Touring in July of 2016, my lease will be up July 2019. I definitely would have purchased this car at lease end if it wasn't having as many problems. I have had multiple electrical issues throughout the lease with different dash warnings and radio/Bluetooth issues with my car for quite some time, but when your car won't start repeatedly and they can not figure out the problem. It is definitely a pain in the ass. Third time in the shop they finally replaced the battery and now the alarm goes off at all hours. The lights turn on and the wipers start going if it is raining or snowing. The key fob will not work and when you look into the window the dash display is on and the alarm light is blinking still. It is at the dealership now...AGAIN!

Radio screen flashes off to another screen while driving....has locked my phone so that even with the car off, I cannot use my iPhone....had it replaced totally once and problems are starting again....took it back to dealer and they did a "software" update the second time and I am still having problems. Today suddenly the clock was out of sync....I did nothing....there it was, just suddenly not the right time....and not exactly an hour off....just some random time.....then suddenly it was back to normal time. The screen still sporadically changes to some other screen while driving without my even touching it. And, sometimes when I try to use the steering wheel controls to change a station it is locked and won't respond. This system is TOO buggy and not worth the money I paid for it. One time it kept beeping while I was driving and was a real distraction....I had no way to stop it.

Civic EX 2.0L

Remote start failed to turn on A/C (or heat). You cannot lock the Civic if it is running, one must shut it down and do the remote start to have the vehicle lock. Had not used this feature since the winter, but as the cat was along for the trip, used it assuming it worked property, while I ran in to pick up a package. Lucky for me and the cat I was only gone for about 5 minutes, returned to find the car getting quite warm. If I had been very much longer, it scares the heck out of me to think I may have came back to a deceased pet.

I had set the A/C to about 68F/18C, no fans were running, screen was black, etc. Not at all impressed. Car in for fix on Sept 18, they had problem with the computers communicating with each other, car was left at Honda dealer. Picked up on Sept 20, obviously they did not check to ensure it worked, tried remote start several times with both of the key fobs, nothing, zip, took it back. Waited while they took a look, they said OK, when to start and now there are other electronic problems, left car a Honda again, called today supposedly it is "ready" for pick up tomorrow, Sept 22/2018. To be continued, when and after I check everything out.

Seriously the Honda Civic 2016 is a piece of s** not worth buying. All it does is cause problem after problem. It constantly eats tires every 6 months no matter if you rotate them or not. I'm going through tires over and over. I have take it into the shop several times and they told me that there's nothing wrong with it. Well there's something wrong with it if it's eating the f tires all the time. The electrical constantly going off and on messing with the radio, messing with the clock. My doors won't open, I have to manually use the key most of the time. It's a piece of s* and they keep telling me that they can't find nothing wrong with it.

I do not recommend anybody to buy a Honda Civic. They are junk. Seriously unhappy. Steering wheel has locked up on me several times and yet they cannot find a problem wrong with the car. I think it's b**! I will never buy another Honda as long as I live. They are junk, garbage cars!!!!!!

Civic EX-T

  • CVT transmission
  • 15,000 miles

I have owned my Honda Civic Coupe Ex-T for about a year. It has 15,000K miles on it. I've been experiencing weird electrical issues. Today after I got my car serviced, I was driving on the freeway and wanted to open the sunroof. When I tried to open it, the button would not work. So I tried opening other windows, my driver side window worked fine but the passenger window did not work. I tried to push the Window Lock a few times, did not fix the issue. I restarted my car, did not fix the issue. I unlocked the car doors, boom, fixed the issue. I noticed someone else had the same issue as me so I thought I should note it since it's reoccurring. Before I noticed this issue, I had another problem with my trunk. I opened the trunk and put something inside it, when I tried to close it, it would just pop up. This happened multiple times. The passenger door was opened, so we closed it... did not fix the issue. I closed all the doors and locked them, then closed the trunk and it worked. I always have issues with HondaLink as well, half the time it doesn't work... or when I do plug it in, the screen is just black. These issues are very annoying and worry me that another more major electrical problem will happen as I am reading the complaints above. I have honestly thought about trading it in and purchasing a new vehicle because of the electrical issues I am experiencing.
