My understanding is that this problem is quite common and most likely involves a faulty Body Control Module, or BCM. I intend to have CarMax fix it under their basic warranty coverage as we have only had the car a few weeks. Honda of America should meanwhile step up and replace these faulty units at no cost, as it is a safety/security issue.
