Passenger side sliding door jammed halfway open and would not close or open. Had to have the car towed to the mechanic and have all components of sliding door replaced (twice!). Driver's side strut spring broke under normal use - with 62000 miles on the vehicle. Now rear backup camera/GPS/radio unit has ceased working at all. Passenger side door also randomly begins to close part way through opening, nearly injuring my child's friend who was exiting the vehicle.

The Honda Odyssey I own has paint coming out from the roof and tail. Looking around on the road, I saw many other white Honda Odyssey with similar problems. When doing a search on the web, I saw the recall notice for Honda Odyssey 2011-12. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2019/MC-10161239-0001.pdf My Honda Odyssey is a 2010 model but with same color and similar problems with exterior paint. This would result in corrosion and ultimately the safety of the vehicle. I am attaching the pictures of my vehicle. I did contact Honda and they advised me to get the vehicle inspected at their service center. I am scheduled to visit them for diagnosis soon, but wanted to share what I found as there recall with 2011-12 is something that clearly extends to other years model as well.

Pivot bolt on the auto-tensioner broke twice. The first time the pivot bolt broke was after I had the alternator replaced and I was driving down the highway to take children to school in subzero winter conditions. I barely made it home as my van was running only on the battery. If I had stalled along the road, me and my children were at risk of hypothermia or possibly death due to frigid -40 cold weather. I then had a new tensioner pulley bracket installed and after driving down the highway and the pivot bolt broke off completely again. This is very dangerous condition that can cause serious harm or death due to defective pivot bolt..

The vehicle has major leak from the firewall down to the floor compartment. Water gets in both tail lights when it is raining. I took it to the Honda dealer twice and they never fixed the problem. Honda refused any of these problems. I willl never buy a Honda ever again. This is my third Honda and last too.

"takata recall" paint is stripping and peeling off of vehicle. This is not acceptable as Honda is a well known and reliable brand. There are other makes and models whos paint stands the test of time. What is Honda's excuse for this problem that has effected numerous Honda owners" how will they make this right"

Shortly into a short trip (~5mi) on local streets, smoke came out of the front hood. The vehicle was stopped immediately and 911 called. The emergency team arrived quickly, but fire was noticed in the front hood even before they showed up. The fire was put out but the vehicle was totaled as the front hood was almost complete fried. The vehicle was under regular maintenance and had about 83000 miles on it. Before this incident, no warning sign or other indications were noticed.

I bought this Honda for 4,300 and the guy sold it to me with 90,000 miles but I found out that the speed odometer was changed and it actually has 228K miles. When I recieved the title it said the odometer was changed but they never told me anything when I bought it and they don't want to do anything about it. I bought the van in dallas Texas in a dealer.

While I was driving 65mph down the interstate, my sunroof spontaneously exploded. The photos that were taken after this incident indicate the glass is bowed outward as though it were sucked from the vehicle. This was not the result of something impacting the car. There was no object found in or around the vehicle on the sunroof cover. The cover itself was not damaged, also demonstrating that this was an internal combustion. If the shade had not been closed, I could've easily been killed, or at the very least lost control of the vehicle. This is a significant safety hazard. This could kill small children and cause many other accidents.

Vehicle jerked lightly each and every time I stepped on the gas pedal. The vibration is more obviously when vehicle changed from stop to motion. However, the vibration can still be perceived when the vehicle is in motion. The faster the car is in motion, the less vibration perceived. The car runs smoothly if it is running at the speed 60mph or more. No check engine light. Car used lightly, parked in the garage and only has 35K on it. Oil changes performed regularly every 3K, air filter changed yearly.

Stopped in a service road around a parking lot waiting for cross traffic to clear. Foot was on brake. Vehicle engine began racing. Pressed harder on brake to hold vehicle back to prevent hitting car in front of me. Put vehicle in neutral to stop from going forward. Turned off ignition switch. Started vehicle and problem went away. I operate the brake and gas only with my right foot. I cannot press the gas while my right foot is on the brake. This van experienced sudden acceleration. Day was sunny and about 65F.

I had to replace the fuel pump in my van. I was not aware that there was a recall previously issued for the problem in my 2010 year van. I would like to be reimbursed by the manufacturer for my problem. I also have had to replace both side power sliding doors within the last year or two and they are both going to need repair again as the doors will not stay closed. They close all the way and then pop back open leaving them on and the open door sound indicators remains on. Also when turning, the door will close and then open back up creating air to come through the openings. It is very annoying and very unsafe for our family to travel in. We can't even turn the power off and completely close the door without it popping back open. I have never received a notice from Honda about a recall for the fuel pump problem.

Similar to campaign id # 12V062000 (for older 2008-09 Odyssey), the tailgate on my 2010 Odyssey has failed without any warning. Opening it via electrical buttons (in-car dashboard or remote buttons) results in the tailgate raising, bouncing up and down, then closing right back down. Opening it manually produces additional resistance to opening that wasn't there before the failure; then the tailgate refuses to stay up in the open position and slams down with additional force that can hurt an adult, and seriously injure a child. Based on campaign id # 12V062000, suspected failure points are the tailgate gas-filled struts. Video of the failure mode is posted on youtube here: Https://www.youtube.com/watch?V=8J54vwbcmag

Right rear tail lamp unit was collecting water inside the housing. Dealer advised to have this replaced as it was a potential fire hazard if there was a short circuit. In July 2015, left rear tail lamp starting collecting water as well.
