Noticed this paint defect after a car wash. Took the car in to Poway Honda and they said it did look like a mfg defect and I could take the car anywhere to get fixed but nobody was there to help with the issue. I then opted to take the car to Honda of Escondido since it was closer to my work. They looked it over, took pictures, and referred me to a body shop to get an estimate they could send to corporate as part of a claim. I took the car into Penske Collision Center in Balboa and spoke with Nick who said that he also had a Prologue but opted for the gray color since white was known to have issues. He also said it looked like a mfg defect and would send the claim back to Honda of Escondido after he wrote up the cost report. Nick took extensive pictures and looked over the rest of the car for defects.
Weeks passed and I never heard back from Poway of Escondido so I followed up with several unreturned phone calls and eventually had to go in to get some answers. They gave me the phone number for the service Manager, Tim Wilson. He said that it looked like scratches from the pictures but I would have to bring the car back when the corporate people were visiting to get the final say. I did that and they again insisted that it looked like "scratches from a screwdriver where someone was trying to remove the trim from the window" and asked if I had any work done in that area. I said no, and showed them the surrounding plastic and there was no damage or scratch marks to any surrounding areas, just the paint cracks.
