Hyundai announced a recall for the Veracruz model for the exact same issue. Oil leaks due to faulty design or faulty components cause oil to lead onto alternator which causes severe electrical problems and complete loss of power while driving. Also leads to failure of alternator and charging system. While the problem is the same as that identified in the Veracruz, Hyundai has not extended the recall to the Santa Fe. This should be addressed and the same recall applied to the 2007 Santa Fe (and presumably later models as well).
