The gear shift was locked. I pressed the unlock button. After a minute, as I carefully reversed, I lost control of the car. I managed to gently get it to go forward and the car went beserk, driving itself erratically over the parking lot of the WaWa convenience store. I managed to steer into a pole, or else the car would have gone into oncoming traffic on the biggest street in the city. My car was totaled due to this malfunction & no error on my part. Hyundai needs to be held accountable.
